Fig is a fruit with medicinal value, ornamental value and economic value. It is suitable for cultivation in deep, loose and fertile soil. In recent years, the market price has gradually increased, and the market demand has become larger and larger, which has attracted many people to plant. The longer the planting time, more and more problems can be found, among which fruit drop is the most common problem, fruit drop will make fig yield drop sharply, affecting farmers 'economic interests, so what is the reason for fig fruit drop? Let's take a look together!

1. Soil

Fig tree roots are very developed, strong ability to absorb nutrients, fig tree branches and leaves are due to the ability of the roots. Although the requirements for the soil are not very strict and the adaptability is strong, the PH value in the soil will still have a certain impact on figs. Fig trees grow best in weakly alkaline or neutral soils, with the most suitable pH of 7.2-7.5, are relatively saline-tolerant fruit trees, and require a lot of calcium during growth. Therefore, if the soil is acidic, it will affect the vitality of the roots, and the nutrient absorption will be poor, resulting in the phenomenon of falling flowers and fruits. Therefore, if the soil is acidic, lime should be used to mix with the soil to neutralize the soil.

2. Water

Fig trees have dense, large and thick leaves, so they need more water, which increases the rate of evaporation, especially when the fruit grows new shoots and the fruit expands rapidly. Therefore, if there is water shortage in the growth process, especially in the several stages just mentioned, the soil is too dry, which will affect the normal growth and development of fruit trees, the flesh becomes thicker, the fruit becomes smaller and the quality is reduced. Eventually causing figs to mature prematurely, shrivel and drop fruit.

3. Pests

Pests are generally the main cause of fruit drop. For example, nematodes, nematodes will parasitize the roots of fig trees, nibble on young roots that harm the roots, damage the tissues of the roots, cause the roots to form nodules, rot, new roots are difficult to survive, and the roots gradually shrink. This leads to malnutrition, short growth, gradual yellowing of leaves, premature maturity and fruit drop. There are longicorn, longicorn pests will cross under the cortex of the nibble, gradually into the xylem, into the center of the trunk. The diseased tree is weak, does not have enough nutrition, causes the fruit to drop, and the trunk is hollow, the wind gently blows will be blown off, seriously causes the whole tree to die.

4. Fertilizer

Many friends will only fertilize when fertilizing, but this will cause the tree to lack the rest of the elements, and the good growth of fruit trees requires uniform absorption of all elements. Nitrogen deficiency will reduce the inflorescence differentiation of fruit trees. Although the fruit shape in the early stage is relatively normal, the fruit will become smaller, mature ahead of time and have quality, but the nutrients in the leaves will be transferred to the fruit due to nitrogen deficiency, resulting in serious fruit drop at the upper part of the branch. Potassium deficiency will cause fruit trees to burn leaves, the growth rate of branches will be extremely slow or even stop growing, roots cannot grow normally, nutrition supply is insufficient, and then cause fruit drop.

The above are the four reasons for fig fruit drop. In fact, not only nitrogen deficiency and potassium deficiency lead to fruit drop, but also magnesium deficiency, calcium deficiency and iron deficiency will affect the growth of fig trees. It will hinder the growth of fruit trees in different degrees, and lead to flower and fruit drop. Fruit drop has a great impact on the final yield, and it will also cause different degrees of loss to the economic interests of farmers.
