Lantern fruit, also known as the red girl, can be seen everywhere in the countryside of our country, and the editor often picked and played with it when he was a child, but do you know that this kind of wild fruit that can be seen everywhere has high nutritional value? It can not only be eaten directly, but also can be made into cans, fruit juices and so on. It is very popular in the market, and its market demand is increasing. There are also many people who want to plant but don't know how to plant them. The following editor brings you the planting method of lantern fruit.

1. Select land for planting

Although the requirements of the lantern fruit on the soil is not very strict, but want the lantern fruit normal growth and development, or to choose more humus, fertile soil, loose soil. The orchard chooses to be built against the wind and away from noisy places such as residential areas, factories and so on. To ensure that the orchard is pollution-free, try to build the orchard on the hillside, but the slope should not exceed 10 degrees. When planting, the planting density is determined, the row spacing of each plant is about 1m, and the width and depth of the planting hole is about 40cm. When the farm manure of 5kg is applied to each planting hole, the surface of the hole is a few centimeters lower than the ground to ensure the moisture of the lantern fruit in the growing season.

2. Shaping and pruning

Lantern fruit usually begins to bear fruit in the second year after planting, and there will be almost 2-3 and fruit on an ear. 4-5 basal branches with strong growth and good health should be retained in the year of planting, and 4-5 basal branches each year after the second year, usually about 20 basal branches per cluster. When each tree grows to 4-5 years, it can achieve the high yield of 10kg, but it may cause poor permeability if the branches in the clump are too dense, so that it is easy to be bald under the backbone branches, and there is no fruit inside, thus reducing the yield. Therefore, when entering the fruiting period, we should pay attention to the pruning of fruit trees, enhance the permeability of fruit trees, and cut off weak branches and excess basal branches from overdense branches.

3. Topdressing and watering

After planting slow seedlings, fertilize the seedlings once with the watering work and water them well, keep the soil moist, water once a week, and the summer dry weather can appropriately shorten the watering time. Hole application or furrow application is implemented per mu, usually farm manure or urea. The purpose of applying the second fertilizer after fruit expansion is to promote fruit development and plant growth. In the middle and later stage of harvest, topdressing should be carried out according to the growth of the plant. If the base fertilizer is insufficient, compound fertilizer can be applied, if possible, topdressing outside the root can be carried out, urea or compound fertilizer can be used to form an aqueous solution, and foliage can be sprayed once in about five days. If the leaves are too large and the internodes are too long, the phenomenon of suspected overgrowth should be controlled with potassium dihydrogen phosphate.

4. Disease control

In the process of breeding, we should pay great attention to the soil management of the orchard, remove the weeds and reduce the occurrence of diseases and insect pests. In the period of flowering and shoot growth, if you encounter continuous dry weather, you should pay attention to timely irrigation, apply a fee at least three times a year, and bury the leaves in the soil in mid-late October to prevent cold. The thickness of the buried soil should not expose branches. Around April of the following year, the cold protection measures can be lifted when the temperature gradually picks up. This can effectively prevent frost injury and diseases and insect pests, and ensure the normal growth and development of the plant.

The nutritional value of lantern fruit is very high, it can be said that the whole body is full of treasures, and now the market price of lantern fruit is also very high. And after the lantern fruit is ripe, the fruit will be stored for a long time, so it is a good project to plant and get rich. Before planting, we should first understand the growth characteristics of lantern fruit, suitable for the environment, and then determine whether to plant on a large scale. I hope this article will be helpful to all of you.
