Last Updated: 2024/11/10, Douban orchid, also known as Guoyi Chunlan, as a member of the national orchid family, has a long history, wide variety, wide distribution and rich resources in Yunnan Province. ...

Douban orchid is also called line art spring orchid. As a member of the big family of Chinese orchid, it has a long history of cultivation in Yunnan Province, with various species, wide distribution and abundant resources. After years of breeding, cultivation and development and utilization by people in the orchid circle, some excellent varieties have appeared in Douban orchid, which has attracted the attention of the orchid circle and is favored by more and more orchid lovers at home and abroad. Among them, the Cuiyu plum developed by Mr. Zhang Qilin, executive director and deputy secretary-general of Dali Orchid Association, is one of the most excellent varieties of Douban orchid, which integrates crystal flower, plum petal, flying shoulder, hard hold, crystal color and strong meat texture.

1. Hardware and software of cultivation management

(1) Hardware conditions for cultivation management

1, good light (the best blue shed can be east and south);

2, good ventilation conditions: outdoor, indoor, orchid basin ventilation environment;(available electric fan or ventilator, etc.);

3. Good indoor humidity environment: splashing water on the ground, water curtain, etc.

(ii) Software

1. Healthy and good seedlings without disease;

2. Have certain knowledge of orchid appreciation;

3. Have certain knowledge of orchid cultivation and management.

2. Cultivation pots

1, give priority to the use of plastic basin: must standardize ventilation, easy to standardize management;

2. Pottery pots, earthen pots, etc. are not preferred.

III. Cultivation substrate

1. Choose thorn chestnut leaves, snake wood, raw granular red soil, sheep dung, burning soil, bark, plant gold stone, etc. In principle, the leaves planted must be rotten thoroughly, and it is better to have bacteria; sheep dung must also be decomposed thoroughly, and others need not be too particular (Jiuzhou red plum cultivation leaves 70~85%, 10~25% raw granular red soil or add a little snake wood, plant gold stone, sheep dung, bark, etc.);

2. The selected plant materials must be ventilated, breathable, filtered and moderately fertilized in principle.

IV. Cultivation Management

1. Water management. Water management is the most important thing in orchid cultivation, which determines the growth speed, seedling development and health of orchids.

The basic principles of watering time and temperature are: pot light or pot weight is not the best time for watering, water quality is not too high requirements (generally tap water can be used), watering must try to make the pot temperature, water temperature, orchid room temperature basically consistent, shower can also be basin watering; after watering, must open the window or use electric fan to dry the leaves or bud moisture, can also be placed in a cool and ventilated place to dry, and then put on the basin rack for daily management;

2. Ventilation. The ventilation of orchid room is an important factor. The ventilation of orchid room and outdoor, the ventilation of orchid basin in orchid room, the gas field and air circulation in orchid room are closely related to the growth of orchid. Ventilation with a breeze caress, orchid leaves slightly swing the best;

3, blue room temperature and humidity. Temperature and humidity are contradictory and harmonious, high temperature, low humidity, low temperature and high humidity. Splashing water on the ground or using water curtain can coordinate the contradiction between temperature and humidity. The best environment for orchid growth is when the temperature of orchid room is 25~28℃ and the relative humidity is 50~70%.

4. Light management. Curtains can be used indoors, shade nets can be used outdoors, etc. for light management, shading rate can be about 60-85%, orchid leaves and orchid pots can be properly direct illumination, time should not be too long, especially in the morning sunrise for one or two hours of sunshine is better, too much or too little sunlight is not conducive to orchid growth, easy to cause orchid leaves burn or orchid root vitality stagnation, resulting in stiff seedlings and stiff roots;

5. The water moss on the orchid basin must be kept in a moist state to create a good moist growth environment for the tender roots of the new seedlings, and it is not easy to cause leaf beetle burning or stiff seedlings.

V. Burning tips, fallen seedlings, stiff seedlings, etc. in cultivation and management

1. Burning tip. Most of them are caused by improper watering timing (too dry or too wet), water temperature, pot temperature, temperature difference in orchid room, etc., showing light white or light brown leaf tips; fertilizer injury can also cause burning tips, showing black leaf tips;

2. Fall seedlings. The watering temperature is not well controlled, and when watering, the water accumulates in the center of the seedling, causing dehydration and falling seedlings under the direct irradiation of temperature rise or sunlight; other such as old seedlings, sick seedlings, etc. will also cause falling seedlings;

3. Dead seedlings. Because watering temperature is too high or too low, as well as orchid pot in the sun under strong irradiation caused by pot temperature is too high, orchid root growth stagnation, especially often placed at high temperature; conversely placed at low temperature, can also cause orchid root growth stagnation, resulting in stiff seedlings.

These situations are generally caused by inadequate management processes or problems in Langen. Nurturing orchids must cultivate orchids roots in order to cultivate orchids. Orchid cultivation is a systematic project, every link is very important, the quality of management determines the quality of cultivation.

VI. Good mentality of growers

1, must have a deeper understanding of the characteristics of the orchid varieties planted, the unique habits and growth rules of each orchid variety must be distinguished, can not be divided into varieties and do not consider the characteristics of different varieties to do the same cultivation management, but also can not pull out seedlings to promote, anxious to achieve;

2. There must be a correct orientation and actual goal for the expected value of the cultivated orchids;

3, must adhere to their own actual situation, according to their own cultivation environment, management habits, explore a set of cultivation experience in line with their own actual, can not be fickle, a good listen to others to change their own cultivation management methods, finally confused, unable to cultivate.

4. The growth habit of Douban orchid has little effect on cultivation and management. Generally, the seedling rate of cultivation is not as good as that of lotus petal orchid, but the cultivation method is correct. Some varieties such as Jiuzhou red plum can also reach 1:1 or 1:2, and the benefit is considerable.
