Pomegranate cultivation is mostly concentrated in tropical and temperate regions of China, but with the development of planting technology, greenhouse technology can also be planted in other areas. Although the planting environment is almost solved, there are often many problems and diseases in the process of planting pomegranate. The disease does great harm to pomegranate. So what diseases will pomegranate have? How to prevent and cure it? Let's take a look at it with the editor.

1. Coal pollution disease

Symptoms: the harmful object of coal fouling disease is the leaves and fruits, and there will be an obvious layer of black unknown substance on the leaves at the initial stage of the disease. However, this layer of unknown substance can be easily erased by hand, and a layer of material similar to bituminous coal is glued to the leaves, preventing the leaves from photosynthesis. The main transmission is due to the insects carrying the virus to stay on the leaves, leaving feces and so on, and poor permeability, high temperature and humidity on the fruit trees have a higher incidence. The disease of fruit is similar to that of leaves.

Control methods: when it is found that there are pests on fruit trees, such as aphids and shell insects, they should be removed in time, and they can be driven away by artificial killing or spraying insecticides. When the disease is serious, imidazole wettable powder and other agents are sprayed on the affected site for prevention and treatment, once every 9-11 days for about a month.

2. Dry rot

Symptoms: dry rot is likely to occur in the whole growth period of pomegranate, generally more around the Dragon Boat Festival. The environment with high humidity is the best environment for dry rot, which will have an impact on flowers and fruits, and dark sunken spots will appear in the infected area at the initial stage of the disease. When the disease is serious, it will cause falling flowers. After the occurrence of the disease, the diseased part of the fruit became rotten and soft, and the water gradually lost and dried in the later stage, and many black spots appeared at the location of the disease. If it is not dealt with in time, it will lead to rot during harvest and storage.

Prevention and control methods: strengthen the management of the orchard, enhance the resistance of the tree, do a good job in clearing the orchard before winter, and concentrate on dealing with things with hidden diseases, such as diseased and residual branches, falling flowers and fruits. Pay attention to observation, remove the diseased fruit in time to prevent infection and avoid mechanical damage to the tree as far as possible. To do a good job of fruit bagging, we can properly spray stone-sulfur mixture and other chemicals for prevention and control.

3. Brown spot

Symptoms: the harmful part of brown spot is leaf and fruit, and brown spot will lead to a large number of fallen leaves and fruits in fruit trees. Leaves infected with the disease will produce many small dark spots on the surface, these spots will gradually expand, and then form different shapes of disease spots. There is a slight depression in the center of the lesion. After the onset of the disease, the fruit is similar to the leaves, some black spots will appear on the disease spot, and the rotten fruit will fall in the later stage.

Prevention and control methods: first of all, like dry rot, do a good job in clearing the garden, take the diseased and residual branches, fallen leaves and fruits out of the orchard and stay away from treatment. Reduce the source of disease in the orchard, reduce the incidence, strengthen the drainage and irrigation of the orchard, prevent excessive humidity, and reduce the disease resistance of the tree. After flowering, you can spray an appropriate amount of mancozeb and other chemicals. Then about once a week, about a month.

These are the common diseases of pomegranate, and of course there are more than these, such as scab and so on. The editor only mentioned three common ones. In fact, no matter what the disease is, it will have a great impact on the growth of pomegranate. In fact, as long as we do a good job in orchard management, deal with some diseases and pests, fallen leaves and fruits, we can effectively reduce the incidence of disease. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. We'll see you next time.
