Relationship between Deep Planting and Strong Bud of Orchid Grass

Last Updated: 2024/11/08, At present, the more consistent view is that deep plant germination is relatively less, can germinate stronger, and seedlings strong flowering well; shallow plant germination is more than deep plant, but the bud is weaker, of course, this is also related to bud nutrient dispersion.

Today, I read an article by a friend about whether orchids should be deeply planted or shallowly planted. At present, there is a more consistent view that deep-planted orchids sprout relatively less, sprouting is stronger, and seedlings bloom well; shallow-planted sprouts are more deeply planted, but buds are weaker. Of course, this is also related to the dispersion of many nutrients in the buds. It is certain that the deeply planted bluegrass is easy to rot and get sick, and the management needs to be strengthened.

What I want to say is that in peacetime, bluegrass can be properly shallow planted, which is conducive to germination and management. When you see a bud sprouting or when it comes to the sprouting season (of course, this is more difficult to determine, but it is generally certain), you can properly fill the surface of the original basin with a depth of 0.5 to 1cm after covering the Reed head.

Because the sprouting and spreading leaves of the new buds become faster when the new buds are exposed to light, the lateral growth of the autogenic interior becomes slower and the longitudinal growth is dominant, so the development of the bud is not full enough and the bud is weak. Take bamboo as an example. Of course, the conclusion of bamboo shoots is accurate. When bamboo shoots are underground, when the depth of bamboo shoots increases 5cm, their thickness will increase 1cm. Therefore, bamboo forests should be covered every autumn to increase temperature and shoot early, and to increase the thickness of bamboo shoots and increase production. From here we can see why deep planting can produce strong buds.
