Figs are generally distributed in the tropical provinces of China, because of the growth habits of figs, many provinces can not grow this kind of fruit. However, due to the growing market of figs, if growers do not expand their acreage in time, demand may fall short of supply. If you want to expand the planting area, you must reproduce, so how to reproduce figs? The following editor has brought the breeding method of figs, let's have a look!

1. Cuttage propagation

Cutting propagation is the most commonly used propagation method of figs, which is usually carried out around Ching Ming Festival and in summer every year. If you breed in summer, you should choose robust branches as mother branches, which can take root in about 28-30 days under normal management. If you are cutting in Ching Ming Festival, you should choose the branches that have not sprouted for about two years as the mother branch of the cutting. Cut the branch at about 40 cm, then disinfect it and insert it into the soil obliquely. The aboveground part is set aside about 1 stroke and 3, and then watered in time to ensure that the soil is moist. Attention should be paid to cutting branches to disinfect the wound of the plant so as to avoid diseases and insect pests caused by bacteria.

2. Ramet propagation

Ramet propagation is also a common propagation method of figs, and its propagation time is similar to that of cutting propagation, which can be 15-20 days earlier. When using ramet propagation, choose the fruit tree with strong growth, high yield and no disease and insect pests as the mother tree. Then dig out the root soil, the root will sprout some small root seedlings, we need to cut off these small root seedlings together with the root. After cutting, the root position of the plant should also be disinfected and sealed, otherwise it may be threatened by underground insect pests. Then put the cut root into the soil, cover the fine soil, and do a good job in water and fertilizer management.

3. Striping propagation

The last one is striping reproduction, and the best time for striping reproduction is around June every year. First of all, we should choose the natural drooping branches of the fruit tree for a year or so, and press the branches into the nearest soil, if the fruit trees are taller and the branches are not long enough. Then we need to fill up the surrounding soil properly, and then apply the right amount of farm fertilizer and water to manage it carefully. When the branches take root, cut them off from the fruit trees, pour enough water, and manage them in accordance with the usual seedling management methods. The method of strip propagation is relatively simple, but the rooting cycle is long and the survival rate is low, so it is less used in the three propagation methods.

The above is a brief introduction to the method of fig reproduction. Figs can actually be sown and reproduce, but few people use this method of reproduction. Because the period of sowing and reproduction is very long, and seed germination and emergence will be affected by many factors, which is not conducive to large-scale planting.
