Persimmons are our more common fruit trees, which are often seen by friends in rural areas. Basically, every household will plant one or two persimmons. When persimmons are ripe, the red persimmons are hung in less food, which is very good-looking. When planting persimmon, in order to cultivate strong seedlings, increase yield, improve the use of grafting technology, then how to graft persimmon? Let's get to know it.

1. Grafting time

There are many grafting methods of persimmon, and the grafting time of different grafting methods is different. the suitable time for branch grafting is that the buds have germinated from March to April, the sap of the rootstock begins to flow, and the scion is in the period of dormant household germination, which is helpful to improve the survival rate of grafting. The suitable time for bud grafting is twice a year, once in spring and summer, when persimmon blossoms in May, and the second time in summer and autumn, when autumn shoots begin to stop growing in August.

2. Grafting method

Branch grafting is a well-developed and well-developed perennial branch or fruit branch as a scion, which can be divided into split grafting, subcutaneous grafting and so on. Split is suitable for rootstock sturdy use, at the rootstock 5-10 cm from the ground, choose smooth straight out cut, with a knife in the middle of a deep 3cm slit, the lower end of the scion will be cut into a wedge, require the scion with 2-3 full-growing buds, insert it into the slit, the two forming layer can be aligned. The subcutaneous knot is generally carried out after the rootstock is removed from the bark, choose to cut the bark smoothly out of the rootstock, cut the skin longitudinally on one side, go straight to the xylem, twist it left and right with a knife to make part of the bark warp up, cut the scion into a horseear shape, and put it under the skin.

3. Budding method

The full buds of annual branches that have not sprouted are commonly used as T-shaped and I-shaped buds. T-shaped cut at 3-5cm above the ground of the rootstock, and then cut off the shield-shaped leaf of the scion, which is about 2cm long and 0.6cm wide, and insert it into the scion. On the other hand, the I-shaped shape is to cut an I-shaped seam about 2 cm long and 1.5 cm wide in the smooth place of the rootstock, cut a rectangular bud piece as long as the rootstock on the scion, insert it into the incision, then wrap the bud piece with the rootstock skin, remove the excess rootstock skin, expose the bud, and then bind it with plastic film.

4. Points for attention

Persimmon plants contain a single spirit of the alkaline substance, this substance is very easy to oxidize when exposed to oxygen, causing the wound to turn yellow and black, so experienced people must operate when grafting. In order to avoid wound oxidation, we must do a good job, so as to avoid graft failure.

The above is the introduction of persimmon grafting technology, hope to help you, want to know more related knowledge, please follow us.
