Melon has a wide range of distribution in all parts of our country and is a very common fruit. Wild quantities can be seen in rural areas and even on country roads. Melon is rich in carbohydrates and vitamin C. It is a fruit with high nutritional value. Now the area of artificial planting is also more and more wide, so how should we raise seedlings before planting? The following small series brings you melon seedling technology, let's take a look!

1. Seed selection and drying

Take out seeds from fruits that are free of pests and diseases and grow healthily. When selecting seeds, pay attention not to dirty them, and choose seeds that are full and have little difference in size. Then wash the seeds with clean water, and clean the pulp and mucus on the seed coat. The washed seeds are then placed evenly on plastic film in sunny days for sun-seeding. When drying seeds, turn seeds regularly to ensure that seeds receive light evenly and improve the effect of drying seeds. The main purpose of sunning seeds is to improve the germination rate of seeds and promote the germination of seedlings.

2. Seed treatment

After drying, put the seeds into warm water of about 58 degrees for soaking. During the soaking process, stir the seeds constantly to ensure that the seeds are heated evenly. After the water temperature becomes low in the process of soaking seeds, it should be heated to the appropriate temperature in time, and it should be removed and air-dried for about 30 minutes. Then put the seeds in the prepared easy, pour warm water of about 25 degrees, and soak them for about 7 hours. After soaking seeds, fish them out, rub off the mucus remaining on the seed coat, wrap them in wet cloth, put them in an environment of about 28 degrees for germination, and sow them at the right time after the radicle grows.

3. Timely sowing

After finishing all the preparation work, sowing in due time, first of all, we should tidy up the seedling bed, prepare the nutrition bowl, and apply sufficient base fertilizer. Then control the planting density and sow at the right time. When sowing, put 1-2 seeds into a nutrition bowl, cover fine soil after sowing, irrigate enough water to promote seed germination, and then cover a layer of plastic film. Strengthen field management, in addition to not watering once after sowing, do not need watering before emergence. Keep the temperature at about 28 degrees Celsius and do a good job of warming to provide sufficient germination conditions for seeds.

4. Seedling management

After successful emergence of seeds, the temperature should be controlled at about 24 degrees, not too high or too low, and the highest temperature should not exceed 31 degrees. When the night temperature is lower than 8 degrees, do a good job of heat preservation, and observe the field situation after emergence, and water properly when the soil is turned white. Then control the amount of watering a week before planting. Do a good job of greenhouse ventilation to prevent excessive growth of seedlings, affecting the growth of melon. When the seedlings grow to about 5 leaves, they can be transplanted at the right time.

The above is a simple introduction to melon seedling technology, melon growth ability is relatively strong, and its high yield, good quality. However, we should also do a good job in field management after planting to ensure the healthy growth of melon.
