Some flower friends think that Phalaenopsis is an one-time flowering flower, after flowering, there is no maintenance value. In fact, Phalaenopsis can blossom normally in the next few years as long as it is properly maintained.

蝴蝶兰的花后养护

1. Go to the flower garden. After all the flowers of Phalaenopsis have withered, the flowers should be cut off from the base in time to reduce the consumption of nutrients in the plant.

2. Keep warm. In the northern region, Phalaenopsis should be insulated in winter: one is to cover the flower pot with plastic film to control water and stop fertilizer; the other is to put the flowerpot covered with the film in the indoor sunny place to improve the temperature of the small environment through light.

3. Change the basin early. Change the pot in time after the butterfly orchid, no later than mid-April at the latest.

4. Watering skillfully. Watering is very important in the maintenance of Phalaenopsis. According to the author's experience, before the May Day, the basin soil should be kept moist, usually irrigated once a week, every 4-5 days after the May Day, and the leaves can be sprayed when the temperature is high at noon. What needs to be mentioned is that the water in the north is alkaline, and the basin soil is easy to be alkalized for a long time, so some ferrous sulfate should be properly poured every week or so.

5. Enough light. Put it in a place with sufficient light before the middle of May; because of the strong ultraviolet radiation after the middle of May, the direct light at noon should be avoided, and semi-shade should be provided in summer.

6. Prevent diseases and insect pests. Spring is the season of frequent occurrence of diseases and insect pests in Phalaenopsis. If diseases and insect pests occur, in addition to strengthening water and fertilizer management and good ventilation, leaf spot can be controlled with broad-spectrum fungicides such as chlorothalonil, while soft rot should be treated differently. bacterial soft rot can be controlled with 72% agricultural streptomycin 1000 times, and fungal soft rot can be controlled with chlorothalonil, carbendazim, methyl thiophanate, etc. For scale insects and aphids, they can be killed manually when the number is small, and 1000 times of omethoate EC can be used to control when the number is large.
