Loquat is not only a kind of plant belonging to Rosaceae, but also a kind of native fruit in China. Loquat fruit has a very high taste, rich in sugar and various vitamins, and has the work of moisturizing the lungs and relieving cough. And loquat leaves also have effects such as clearing lung and stomach heat, which is the raw material of many medicines. So how do we manage when we plant loquat? The following editor brings you the cultivation and management techniques of loquat, let's have a look!

1. Temperature management

Loquat was originally a subtropical fruit, so there are certain requirements for temperature. When planting economically, the temperature should be controlled at about 16 degrees. To ensure that there is no cold weather in the planting area, under normal planting, the flowering period of loquat is usually in the late winter and other content seasons. If the temperature is low, it will seriously reduce the amount of flowers and fruits of loquat, and minus 3 degrees will lead to fruit freezing injury. When the temperature rises above 10 degrees, the pollen will begin to sprout, and the best temperature should be about 18 degrees. If the temperature is more than 30 degrees, the branches, leaves and roots will grow all the time, and if you encounter high temperature 1-2 weeks before picking, it will cause the fruit to burn and lose its commercial value.

2. Fertilizer and water management

We should control the amount of fertilizer and water according to the age of the tree, and carry out the first topdressing work when the first leaf is produced after the young tree is planted. The fertilizer is mainly rotten farm manure, which is applied about twice a month, following the principle of more and less application. The times of topdressing for fruiting trees should not be less than three times a year, which should be carried out in January, March and May respectively. In July, the application of nitrogen fertilizer should be stopped, the proportion of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be increased, and the growth of prosperous branches should be controlled. Then pay attention to watering, for strong fruit trees should pay attention to drainage work, reduce soil moisture, prevent excessive stagnant water leading to retting roots.

3. Shaping and pruning

Shaping and pruning is also very important for the growth of loquat trees, and stratification should be done after young trees are planted. Keep the first layer of 3 main branches about 45 cm from the ground, and then control the spacing at about 55 cm for about three times. When young trees sprout new shoots in spring, do branch-pulling treatment. Then after harvest, the fruiting tree should cut off the old withered branches, pest branches and overlapping branches in time to promote the production of new shoots and cultivate fruiting branches. Prevent excessive nutrition consumption, reduce the amount of flowers and fruits, and enhance the growth ability of loquat.

4. Flower and fruit management

The management should be strengthened during the young loquat tree stage, and then the flower promotion work should be carried out reasonably in the following year. In addition, we should do a good job of flower and fruit thinning to prevent the amount of flowers and fruit from exceeding the bearing range of loquat trees, and control the strength according to the growth of the tree. There should be a small number of strong trees, on the contrary, weak trees should be more sparse. Then follow the principle of thinning the weak and staying strong. After about 4 months of fruit thinning, bagging should be done well. It is necessary to do a good job of spraying pest control agents before bagging. When bagging, it is necessary to increase the space of the bag as much as possible, first of all, put in about 3 leaves to prevent the bag from touching the fruit surface, resulting in fruit injury.

The above is a brief introduction of loquat cultivation and management technology, loquat planting management is very critical. Therefore, we in the planting process can not be ignored to prevent some irreparable losses. That's all for today's introduction. This article is for reference only. I hope it can help you all.
