Guava, also known as guava, is a tropical fruit that is loved by consumers in the market. To grow it, you must first understand its seedling method. Guava can be through seeds, cuttings, layering and grafting seedlings, let's take a look at the detailed introduction.

1. Seed seedling

First of all, we should select the fully mature fruits on the mother plants with excellent varieties and high yields, harvest the fruits and let them fertilize, then clean the seeds, remove the unfilled seeds, and sow them after drying. However, its seed shell is hard and its water absorption is poor, so it is necessary to soak seeds and germinate before sowing, and then sow when its embryo is exposed, so that it not only germinates neatly but also has a high germination rate. The method of direct seeding is adopted, seeds are evenly spread on seedbeds, a layer of soil is covered, grass is covered, and water is poured through. Water 1-2 times a day according to weather conditions, germinate in about 30-40 days, transplant when seedlings grow 2-3 pairs of true leaves, strengthen fertilizer and water management after transplantation, and transplant or graft when seedlings grow to more than 40 cm.

2. Cutting seedlings

Firstly, the branches which grow healthily, have no diseases and insect pests and are semi-lignified on the mother plant for 1-2 years are selected as cuttings, cut into a section of 15 cm, cut the base into a triangular shape, and retain 2-3 pairs of leaves on the upper part. Soak the lower end of the cuttings in the rooting agent for 3-5 seconds, and then use rod-shaped objects with the same thickness as the cuttings on the seedbed according to a certain plant spacing, and the hole depth is required to be 3-5 cm. Then the treated cuttings are inserted into holes, pressed by hands to make them closely connected, watered thoroughly, watered frequently after root system takes root, kept soil humidity above 85%, adjusted illumination at the same time, so as to avoid direct sunlight, and transplanted after cultivation for one year.

3, layering seedlings

selecting branches growing for 2-3 years on high-yield and high-quality mother plants, girdling the position about 50 cm away from the top tip, about 2-3 cm wide, smearing rooting agent, and wrapping the branches with straw and soil. About two months or so will grow out of the ring stripping dense new roots, then branches and mother plants can be separated for false planting. When planting, most branches and leaves need to be cut off, leaving only a small number of branches and leaves, so as to avoid the new buds sprouting too fast and the roots cannot meet their nutritional needs. After false planting, proper shade is needed, water is adjusted, watering is 1-2 times a day, watering is controlled for 2-3 days after half a month, and thin fertilizer water can be applied after one month to make seedlings grow healthy.
