Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Orchids refer to Chunlan, Cymbidium, Jianlan, Mulan and Hanlan and so on. The temperature of watering is low in winter, and reducing the amount of water in orchids can increase the concentration of cell sap, which is beneficial to flower bud formation, so the basin soil can maintain a certain humidity. For orchids that already have flower buds, the pot soil is too dry or too wet, otherwise it will affect flowering. Watering time should be at noon.

Antifreeze orchids usually do not cause frost damage when they are above 0 ℃.

I. as far as the region is concerned

(1) in the north, orchids spend the winter in greenhouses from the end of September to mid-early April of the following year, but keep ventilated to prevent muggy heat.

(2) in the Yangtze River basin, the orchid is moved to the sunny shelter house in winter, and when the wind and snow is cold, the orchid can be moved into the house, and the plastic film shed can also be built to spend the winter.

(3) in the south, orchids do not need to move into the house. If the temperature is controlled reasonably in winter, the orchid can bloom normally and promote the vegetative growth of the orchid.

2. As far as varieties are concerned

The main results are as follows: (1) for Cymbidium and Cymbidium, if the indoor temperature is about 10 ℃, the flower buds will die under the soil, or the pedicels will not elongate, affecting the normal opening of flowers. If the low temperature is given, the buds will enrich and produce good flowers.

(2) for Jianlan, Mulan and Hanlan, the temperature is about 10 ℃.

If possible, the orchid can be heated. The indoor temperature should be kept at 15 ℃ during the day and 5 ℃ at night. It is divided into three stages: first, heating in late autumn and early winter to promote the full maturity of the plant; second, no heating from the middle of December to the end of January, only 5 ℃, allowing it to grow slowly; third, starting from February, heating and giving sufficient light and a certain humidity can make the orchid enter the growth period ahead of time and sprout a month and a half later.
