Strawberries are people's favorite fruits, which are generally cultivated in open fields or in greenhouses. However, in recent years, due to the limited soil in the city, potted strawberries have become popular in the city, and many people like to plant several pots at home. Pot cultivation needs to pay more attention to more problems, in the end how to manage it?

1. Select the vehicle

Earthen pots or plastic pots are fine, but the mouth of the basin should be 20 to 30 centimeters wide. Strawberry pot culture soil is mainly composed of sand and gravel, cake fertilizer, bacterial fertilizer, microbial fertilizer and so on. You can choose varieties with strong disease resistance and low water demand, such as Changhong No. 2 and so on.

2. Cultivation techniques.

Potted plants can be cultivated all the year round. Sowing and cultivation can be done directly. However, seedling cultivation in the garden is best carried out in winter. Choose good seedlings, raise seedlings with clods, leave about 10 cm of roots, remove old diseased leaves, and plant roots in pots. The planting depth is better at the rhizome. Plant straight and press the soil. The mouth of the basin should be about 2 to 3 centimeters from the soil. After planting, pour the root water thoroughly, place it in the shade for a week, and then move to a place with good light.

3. Fertilizer and water management

Strawberries blossom and bear fruit many times a year, consuming a lot of nutrition. Peanut shells, bean cakes and so on can be used after ripening and fermentation or compound fertilizer is applied once a week. Outdoor potted plants should be watered sooner or later, not tap water.

4. Seedling management

Timely, pick leaves, stems, remove ineffective flowers, remove old leaves, residual leaves, diseased leaves, in order to reduce nutrient consumption and increase fruit yield. Different scaffolding can be made with iron wire or bamboo sticks to promote plant ventilation, receive light, and increase sweetness. Prevent soil contamination and reduce diseases and insect pests. It can also improve the ornamental value.

5. Change the basin

Results after 2 to 3 years, it is best to change the culture medium in the basin, first tilt the basin and gently tap the basin wall to loosen the soil, then gently hold the base of the plant stem to take out the whole pot soil, then tap the soil gently, take out the seedling, cut off the senescent root, dead root and diseased root, and then plant it in the new basin soil.

6. Temperature and humidity

Potted strawberries generally require a temperature of 20-25 ℃ and room temperature above 15 ℃ in winter. The flowerpot should be placed in a ventilated and sunny place, and the pot soil should always keep 60% moisture.

Compared with open field cultivation, potted strawberries have limited growth space and need to pay more attention to a little more problems, so we must pay attention to the management points mentioned above in our own cultivation in order to make potted strawberries grow well and produce more and better quality.
