Grape is a kind of drought-tolerant fruit tree, which is most suitable for its growth in areas with rainfall of 600ft / 800mm. If you do a good job of preserving soil moisture in these areas, you can get a certain yield even without irrigation throughout the year. Nowadays, the methods of water-saving irrigation in vineyards are widely studied in the world, which can reduce the irrigation water consumption of grapes by half and ensure the yield and quality. Let's take a look.

1. Surface irrigation

The irrigation method of the pond when the seedlings are irrigated, its skills are also constantly being developed. the common surface irrigation is ditch irrigation, and the traditional furrow irrigation is to put water into the ditch border, which is neither accurate nor convenient, and will cause water loss because of leakage. at present, siphons or gate pipes are adopted abroad, which can increase the utilization rate of water in the field by 5% and 10%. There is also a kind of film irrigation, also known as film hole irrigation, which is made into a ditch on the plastic film, and the water flows to the outlet hole to seep into the land, so that the utilization rate of irrigation is high, the water can be saved by 25%, 35%, and the effective increase of production is 15%, 20%, and no other facilities are needed, so it has strong adaptability.

2. Sprinkler irrigation

Sprinkler irrigation is also a commonly used water-saving irrigation method, which is sprinkled in the air. The advantage of sprinkler irrigation is that the degree of irrigation is uniform, less arable land is occupied, manpower is saved and the adaptability to the terrain is strong. However, it also has its defects, which is greatly affected by the wind and high investment in equipment. Fixed pipe sprinkler irrigation, semi-mobile pipe sprinkler irrigation, rolling sprinkler irrigation branch pipe, hour needle sprinkler irrigation machine and so on are widely used in our country.

3. Drip irrigation

Drip irrigation is a sophisticated irrigation method, which uses a small plastic pipe to send irrigation water directly to the root of each crop, dripping slowly from the drip, irrigating only where it is needed to irrigate crops instead of land. And it can also make the moisture of the crop root in the optimal state for a long time, which can not only save water but also increase production. But the defect is drip hole watering, the flow rate of water is slow, and it is easy to clog, so irrigation water must be filtered carefully and seasonally, so as to avoid drip blockage. The commonly used methods are fixed surface drip irrigation, semi-fixed surface drip irrigation, under-film irrigation, underground drip irrigation and so on.

4. Seepage irrigation

Seepage irrigation is similar to low drip irrigation, except that the seepage head is replaced by the emitter and buried in the ground, the water of the seepage head does not flow out drop by drop like the emitter, but slowly, so that the seepage head will not be blocked as easily as the emitter first.

5. Underground irrigation

Underground irrigation is carried out by controlling the groundwater table, raising the groundwater level to the height of root activity during irrigation, and the ground throwing remains monotonous, so it is very water-saving and drops the water level when it is not irrigated. This method has great limitations and can only be carried out when there is an impervious layer under the root active layer.
