The reason why orchids do not bloom
Many flower friends work hard to raise orchids and find that their orchids do not blossom, and it is really not clear why orchids do not bloom. This paper is based on several phenomena and reasons why orchids do not blossom according to their own years of orchid cultivation experience. it's very helpful for novice flower friends.
A normal adult orchid can blossom as long as it reaches more than two or three conjoined plants, if cultivated properly (a few single orchids can also blossom, and cold orchids with thick roots and fine leaves often do). I often hear some orchids say that their orchids have not blossomed for several years, and the reasons are generally as follows:
First, seedlings (seed seedlings) and tissue culture seedlings do not necessarily blossom even if they have been cultivated for many years, just like other plants, for example, fruit trees cannot blossom and bear fruit until a certain age, and orchids cannot blossom and bear seeds until a certain age.
Second, the species differences among orchid species are different, and it is also a common phenomenon that orchids are difficult to blossom due to different climatic conditions. Take Chunlan, for example, some areas are more difficult to blossom, or less able to blossom. For example, in Hainan or the south of Guangdong, where the temperature in the four seasons is relatively higher and more balanced than in other parts of the country, even if Chunlan has flower buds in the above areas, it cannot blossom because of the lack of normal spring flower conditions (low temperature exercise) (I have heard that there is no textual research). There are other orchid species that do not blossom or cannot blossom normally due to the great latitude difference between the north and the south. For example, some wild orchid species are extremely sensitive to climate and will never blossom again in places where there is a great difference in climate. However, such orchids are rare. National orchids, Jian orchids, cymbidium, spring swords, lianban, cymbidium, and cold orchids can blossom in most provinces of the country, not to mention the artificial use of air conditioners and solar greenhouses to regulate temperature to promote orchids to grow and blossom.
Third, the physiological growth of orchids is disrupted due to various reasons, and new leaf buds burst in the period of flower bud formation. in this case, orchid plants do not have more nutrients to maintain the normal differentiation of flower buds, resulting in flower buds stop growing and can not blossom.
Fourth, improper cultivation methods may also lead to the failure of orchids to blossom, and there are mainly the following situations:
The main results are as follows: (1) there is too much nitrogen fertilizer and less phosphorus and potassium fertilizer in the plant material of orchids, which leads to excess vegetative growth and inhibition of reproductive growth. Just like the fruit trees that farmers plant in front and behind their houses, orchids are the same because the soil is too fertile and they often dump garbage and livestock droppings, resulting in only growing branches and leaves without blooming and fruiting. The solution is to replace the plant material with balanced nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium nutrition or increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.
(2) excessive watering during flower bud differentiation and wet plant materials will also lead to exuberant vegetative growth and inhibit reproductive growth. Because the plant material is too wet, the nutrients contained in the plant material will often be absorbed and transmitted by the root to participate in the metabolism of the plant along with the water. As soon as the metabolism is strong, the respiration will be exuberant, thus counteracting the products of leaf photosynthesis. The organic matter accumulation of orchid plants is affected, and flower bud differentiation is lack of due power. The solution is to properly control the water of orchids in July and August every year (the flower bud differentiation period of most orchids) to make the plants dry, and to spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate on the leaves every 10 mi 15 days, two or three times in a row, which is beneficial to the differentiation and formation of orchids.
(3) lack of light is also one of the reasons why orchids do not bloom. Although orchids are shade-loving plants, they also need a certain amount of sunlight in order to maintain normal physiological activities. If the orchid has enough light, the accumulation of organic matter will be relatively more, and the formation of flower buds will have enough power. Some orchid friends have to raise orchids indoors because of the limitations of conditions, and the flowering is naturally less. The solution is to allow orchid plants that are not exposed to the sun to enjoy the sun as much as possible (of course, no exposure), especially the warm and soft sunshine in the morning. In addition to light, the accumulation of photosynthates (organic matter) depends on the temperature difference between day and night. The temperature difference between day and night is small, and the respiration of orchids at night is exuberant, which will consume the photosynthates produced by orchids during the day. Therefore, in the flower bud formation period, the temperature difference between day and night is small, and it is often difficult for orchids to blossom.
Fifth, there is also a situation in which orchids cannot blossom for their own special reasons, or a very small number of orchids do not like to blossom. This phenomenon has appeared in various orchid species, and I have also encountered: in 2004, a vegetarian Jian Lan, which came down the mountain, has been cultivated in this garden for six or seven years, and it has developed to more than a dozen pots. I have never seen flowers until now. This is probably the sterility of plants (orchids).

How to raise orchids (must see when raising orchids for the first time)
How to raise orchids? it is really difficult to raise orchids. They will die after a period of time. What is the reason? Orchids are indeed more difficult to grow than other flowers. The difficulty lies in the fact that the roots of orchids are sensitive to water and are easy to "drown" or "die of thirst". ...

Beauty is shy and Jian Lan
When the flower opened in autumn, the bud was very tender and barely looked up after three days. The flower color was delicate, red and delicate, and the petals were transparent, so it made the beauty shy at that time. The flower color is delicate, red and delicate, the shape is also very good, very rare red shell element.
