After entering August, the temperature rises again, people can't stand it as soon as they go out, and it happens to be the growing period and fruit expansion period of many fruit trees, and the high temperature has a great impact on their growth. If the high temperature water evaporates quickly, the orchard is prone to drought, so how can the orchard resist drought in the hot season? Come and have a look with the editor.

1. Cover the membrane

Orchard plastic film mulching is generally carried out in 3-4 months with strong drought and wind in spring, and plastic film mulching can be carried out under the tree plate. On the one hand, orchard plastic film mulching can optimize the soil environment and improve soil fertility, on the other hand, it can inhibit the growth of weeds around the roots and reduce the cost of weeding.

2. Weed cover

In order to effectively resist drought, orchards can cover weeds, wheat straw, leaves, wheat bran and other materials, this method can be used all the year round, but we should pay attention to the mulching method, generally concentrated around the tree plate for mulching, and to ensure that there is a 20cm interval around the trunk of the tree, so that water can infiltrate into the soil along the trunk and border as soon as possible after rainfall, and the thickness of covered grass is recommended to be within 15-20cm.

3. Water saving irrigation

Because of drought, the groundwater table drops, and there is a lack of irrigation water, so in order to ensure the normal growth of fruit trees, it is necessary to carry out water-saving irrigation for fruit trees during the budding and flowering period of fruit trees in spring, and the appropriate amount of irrigation is 60-70 cm in the wet soil layer. Watering should be carried out from less to more after a long drought to prevent mechanical damage to fruit trees, which has the opposite effect. Drip irrigation can also be adopted, which can save water by more than 50% for traditional irrigation, and it is also a common irrigation method used in orchards at present.

4. Reasonable pruning

For prosperous and long trees, they should be pruned properly and cut short as little as possible to ease the tree potential and reduce the water consumption caused by plant vegetative growth. For the weak plants, the trees should be retracted properly to make the trees and branches slightly stronger. In the growing period of fruit trees, the excess buds should be removed in time, the excess branches should be removed, and the overgrown branches and prosperous branches should be thinned to reduce the amount of water evaporation. In order to minimize the impact of drought on orchards, it is necessary to start with daily management, improve the thickness of soil, promote fruit trees to form deep roots and absorb deeper water.

The above is the introduction of orchard drought resistance technology in high temperature season. I hope it can help you. If you want to know more about it, please follow us.
