Prohibited veterinary drugs detected in various livestock and poultry meat

Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Recently, the official website of the State Food and Drug Administration issued a notice announcing the sampling results of livestock and poultry meat from May to June, showing that among the 429 batches of samples sampled, 11 batches were unqualified. Among them, salbutamol (commonly known as clenbuterol) and chloramphenicol were detected in many unqualified samples.

Recently, the official website of the State Administration of Food and Drug Administration issued a notice announcing the sampling results of livestock and poultry meat from May to June, showing that of the 429 batches of samples, 11 batches were unqualified. Among them, a number of unqualified samples were detected with salbutamol (commonly known as "clenbuterol"), chloramphenicol and other banned veterinary drugs.

The State Food and Drug Administration announced that the nominal production and business units, products and non-conforming indicators involved in the unqualified samples are:

Pork tenderloin produced by Harbin Dajiang Food Co., Ltd. And Beijing Senshun Hengfa Trading Co., Ltd. detected banned veterinary drug salbutamol in front of the buttocks of Senshun Hengfa.

The banned veterinary drug chloramphenicol was detected in the skinned leg meat produced by Xuchang Xinhui Meat processing Co., Ltd., the pork produced by Zhengzhou Trade Co., Ltd., the Young Eagle Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Group, and the white striped chicken produced by Sun Liuhu slaughterhouse in Jiyuan City, Henan Province.

Enrofloxacin residues were detected in pork produced by Chengdu Wutian Food Co., Ltd.

Banned veterinary drug furazolidone metabolites were detected in chicken operated by Nanhu Farmer Market (Zhengguo Waterfowl Meat Shop) in Jin'an District, Fuzhou.

Broilers operated by Tesco convenience store in Dongcheng District, Xuchang City, Henan Province detected excess residues of sulfonamides such as banned veterinary drugs furanone metabolites and sulfadiazine.

The banned veterinary drug chloramphenicol was detected in chicken operated by Kangji Poultry Management Department, Qingyang District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.

The banned veterinary drug furazolidone metabolites were detected in the chicken stalls operated by the fourth-generation white-striped chicken stalls and Chunqing white-striped chicken stalls in Zhongmou County, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province.

The State Food and Drug Administration said that for the unqualified products found in the above spot checks, the food and drug regulatory authorities in Beijing, Heilongjiang, Fujian, Henan and Sichuan provinces, in accordance with the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the people's Republic of China, have ordered production and operation enterprises to take measures such as removal and recall in a timely manner. The food and drug regulatory departments of Heilongjiang and Henan provinces have handed over 9 batches of substandard products involved in livestock and poultry breeding to the animal husbandry department for handling.

The State Food and Drug Administration requires the food and drug regulatory departments of the above five provinces to further investigate and deal with the producers and operators of substandard products, find out the batches, quantities and reasons for the production of substandard products, and formulate rectification measures. The investigation and rectification shall be reported to the State Food and Drug Administration before August 20 and announced to the public.
