There are many things to consider in changing orchid pots. This paper summarizes some matters needing attention in changing orchids, including the choice of orchid pots, how often orchids change pots, and under what circumstances orchids need to change pots, which is very helpful for novice orchids.

Because the environment of orchid cultivation is different, we have to use different materials and different planting methods. We all know that Langen needs the characteristics of ventilation, wetness, geotropy, and so on. As long as these characteristics are satisfied, Langen will naturally grow well. Take the Japanese Goldstone as an example, the planting methods are naturally different in different environments, which are described as follows:

1. Humid environment: greenhouse, humidification, mountains, woods, etc., moss can be seen in the environment, all belong to the above environment, if not caught in the rain, the use of gold stone can be planted in large, medium and small (from bottom to top) way (can choose a basin with holes), this kind of method is a general method, its advantage is good ventilation, because the environment is humid, the root is wet, so it grows well.

2. Dry environment: strong wind, strong sunshine, high temperature, fast evaporation of water, such as balcony and top floor, if you get caught in rain, the planting method is completely opposite to that in wet environment, that is, using pots without holes. The order of planting stones is small, medium and large (from bottom to top), but the disadvantages of this method are poor ventilation and plant shaking. Therefore, it is necessary to insert a pearl milk tea straw moved around the basin, and spread it with a very thin layer of water moss on the basin surface, and press the water moss and the edge of the basin to prevent the plant from shaking. The reasons for this are as follows:

(1) because the roots are wet, if the gold plants are arranged in the order of large, medium and small (from bottom to top), the dry and wet condition of the water is dry and wet, because the big stone absorbs water slowly and dries quickly, while the small stone absorbs water quickly and dries slowly, and the environment outside the basin is dry, so the balcony orchid cultivation often finds the orchid root on the surface of the basin (because the basin surface is wet with water plants or fine stones), so the root is naturally upward and cannot be extended downward. Therefore, the planting methods are naturally different in different environments.

(2) the first kind of planting method, orchid stone from small to big, if caught in the rain, the upper half of the basin because small stones will form stagnant water, plum rain season for a month, will soak the orchid root, so, no matter how good orchids can not be planted, that is why orchids are bought back, if not for the environment to change the pot, the roots will rot and die.

(3) for different environments (coarser materials will be used in the rain, but finer materials will not be used in the rain), it is necessary to first select the suitable basin (basin with holes in the humid environment and basin without holes in the dry environment), and then select the suitable materials (finer materials for pots with holes and thicker materials for pots without holes), taking into account ventilation (drainage), whether the materials in the basin are dry from top to bottom. That is, the bottom of the basin should be wet, and because of different materials, consider how to water and fertilize, then the orchid will grow well.

兰花换盆注意事项

When changing basins, the use of materials should take into account the following principles:

1, the material suitable for the environment: different environments have different methods, taking into account whether the environment is dry or wet, whether the ventilation is good (wind speed), whether it will be caught in the rain, sunshine intensity in time. Wait for factors, and then choose the appropriate material to match the environment, the orchid is naturally heavy, such as my environment is the roof of the second floor, the wind is very strong, and will be caught in the rain, therefore, the material chooses to use the largest grain of planting stone, the intention of doing this is good drainage, otherwise, as soon as the plum rain season comes, if the mixed material is used, due to the small gap in the basin, the stagnant water will be formed in the orchid basin next month, and the orchid root will be soaked. However, due to the fast drainage of large stone plants, it is not easy to absorb water, so it is necessary to water it back and forth more than five times before it will be wet, so watering several times is enough, mainly depending on the water absorption of the material and personal experience, so, as long as you can choose materials suitable for the environment, it is a good way to plant orchids well.

2. Moisturizing and ventilation at the same time: Langen is half-air root, so Langen can grow well only with moisture and good air, but the two are contradictory. Good moisturizing is sometimes not good, and good ventilation is sometimes not easy. For example, when I use large grains of Japanese stone, I choose an orchid basin with holes. Because of the rapid loss of moisture and lack of water in Langen, it is impossible to expand downwards, so only upward water plants and places with water absorb water. After switching to an orchid basin without holes, the condition will be improved, so the use of materials in the basin should take into account both moisturizing and ventilation.

3. The material in the basin should be dried from top to bottom: because the root is wet, the water absorption of the lower part of the material should be higher, so that the root will be extended downward in order to absorb water. The balcony will sometimes find that the root is on the basin surface, while the lower part of the basin has no roots. The main reason is that the watering is not wet enough and the use of the material is not suitable for the environment. For example, the general method of planting gold stone, most of them are large, medium and small (from bottom to top). The drying condition of this kind of seed material is that it dries first at the bottom and then at the top, in the greenhouse, or on the mountain and in places with humidification, because the humidity of the environment is higher than that in the basin, so the wetness of the root will spread downwards, but if you buy back the balcony species, the environment is windy, the sun is strong, the humidity is low, and the lower part of the basin is dry, so the roots cannot be spread downwards, so the basin should be changed and the planting stones will be arranged as small, medium and large (from bottom to top). In order to improve the above shortcomings, so that the smooth growth of orchids.

4, soft and hard moderate, there are gaps: if orchids will not be caught in the rain, there is more space for the use of materials, soft and hard materials can be matched with each other, and there is space between materials to facilitate air circulation, so that the growth of orchid roots will be better. As for how to match, the most important consideration is environmental factors, purely based on personal experience and repeated experiments, as long as orchids can grow well without rotting roots, it is a good material.

5. If the plant is planted well, it will not shake: because of the root condition and seed method, if the plant will shake after planting, it should be improved. For example, the old plant and seedlings should be fixed with non-rusty iron thread, and if the gold stone is planted with small, medium and large grains, the plant will shake because the top is large, so the basin surface should be covered with a thin layer of water grass and pressed down at the edge of the basin, which can improve the shaking of the plant. However, the ventilation and drainage in the basin of these methods are not very good, so it is necessary to place a pearl milk tea straw around the center of the basin to improve the above shortcomings. This kind of planting method is most suitable for orchids that will be caught in the rain and the environment is dry, because if fine stones are used in the upper part of the orchid basin, if it rains for a long time, most of the orchids will rot because of stagnant water, so how to grow orchids depends on the environment and choose appropriate materials. it's really good to use, with one heart.

6. Materials should be clean: there is a lot of dust in Japanese stone and Puli stone. It is best to wash it with water and soak it for another day. After planting, it can be completely dried and watered again to avoid rotting roots. At the beginning of using Japanese stone species, they are often planted directly and then watered. Wash away the dust, but it may not be clean, and the air roots of orchids are wrapped by dust, affecting the exchange of air and moisture, resulting in rotten roots.

7. The root had better rely on the edge of the basin: when watering, the water will flow down the edge of the basin, and the water vapor will form water droplets on the edge of the basin when it is hot, so the edge of the basin is the place with the most water in the basin, so when planting, the root had better be placed around the basin and stick to the basin wall. In this way, the water absorption of orchids will be better, and the roots of orchids will grow stronger.

How often does it take to change the basin, and under what circumstances do you need to change the basin?

1. How often to change the basin mainly depends on the degree of acidification and salinization of the materials in the basin, and the speed of material aging is related to the concentration and times of individual fertilization, pesticide spraying and sterilization. The higher the concentration, the faster the acidification and salinization. Some people need to change pots in half a year. As for foliar fertilization, as long as orchids can grow normally, it doesn't matter to change pots every three years. It has something to do with personal management, when to change the basin, it depends on personal experience.

2. Under what circumstances do you need to change the basin?

(1) sick: the orchid will produce abnormal conditions such as black spots or decolorization on the leaf surface. If you do not change the basin, the new buds will still get sick, so take advantage of the Beginning of Spring's opportunity to water the orchid the day before. The orchid will be picked the next day, rinsed clean with water, after the dry leaf bank will be removed, put into 100 times novel bleaching water, soak the whole plant for 10 to 15 minutes, and then soak in clean water for 15 minutes. Then the new bud will no longer have symptoms. (this method can only be used in the Beginning of Spring, because sterilization does great damage to the orchid root, but because the Beginning of Spring is the beginning of the orchid growing period, the temperature is not high and the humidity is very high, the orchid has time to grow new roots before summer, and if at other times, the orchid may die.)

(2), poor growth: if the orchid grows poorly, the generation is smaller, the new buds have no sense of light, the scorched tail, rotten root or black root, we should consider whether to use the wrong material, so that the basin is too dry or too wet, unable to keep moisture and ventilation, resulting in poor orchid growth, it is necessary to rethink using different materials to change pots, orchids do not grow well must have his reasons.

(3) too dense: orchids grow too vigorously, poor ventilation, easy to grow shell insects, therefore, the use of the Beginning of Spring and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, when the temperature is cooler, to divide the pot with three plants, which is beneficial to the later management.

(4) material aging: due to the influence of fertilization and sterilization, the materials of basin noodles are most prone to aging, and it is best to change them three times a year. If the following materials are sour, moldy, sticky and green, consider changing 1/3 of the above materials or all of them to grow orchids.
