Apricot is one of the fine economic forest tree species, the fruit can be eaten directly, but also can be made into jam, canned and dried apricot, and its planting method is relatively simple, high yield, is a lot of favorite species. So how do apricot trees grow seedlings? Come and have a look with the editor.

1. Rootstock breeding

The rootstocks for apricot seedling breeding can be co-rootstocks or different rootstocks, mostly using mountain apricot, and the seeds must be fully mature. Sowing can be divided into autumn sowing or spring sowing, autumn sowing is carried out before the soil is frozen, and if you want to apply sufficient basic fertilizer, soak the seeds in warm water for one night and sow them in ditches. Because of the low temperature in spring sowing, in order to speed up seedling emergence, the seeds need to be stored in sand and soaked before sowing. If the sowing amount is too small, we can break the shell artificially before spring sowing and soak it in warm water to accelerate germination. Before sowing, we should irrigate the nursery once, and then apply sufficient base fertilizer after water infiltration, and then sow in the ditch of soil preparation.

2. Grafting

The grafting method of apricot is divided into dormant bud grafting and branch grafting, which can be carried out from June to September, and can be grafted when the seedlings grow in 60-70 cm and the thickness is about 1 cm. Generally, the splicing method is used in spring and bud grafting is used in summer. The cutting method is to use plant branches as scions to select excellent and pure, robust, high-yield and stable-yielding shoots with full buds and full Lignification as scions on plants without diseases and insect pests. Cut it into 5 cm long, make it flat wedge under the scion, cut the rootstock 4 cm from the ground, choose one side to cut vertically from the slightly woody part of the section cortex, the depth is about the same as the contact with the long slope, and then cut the scion to the inside, insert the rootstock to cut, make it want to stay closely, and then tie it.

3. Management after grafting

Timely inspection and removal of plastic strips, generally 10-15 days after grafting to check the survival of grafting, if there is no survival, then timely regrafting. After the grafting survived, the leaves above the grafting buds should be cut off and the lateral buds should be removed, and the secondary branches below the grafting buds should be cut off. The management measures of soil, fertilizer, water and pest control after grafting are the same as those at seedling stage.

4. Nursery stock out of nursery

The main root of the grafted apricot seedling is more than 3, the height of the seedling is 70 cm, the thickness of the place 10 cm above the interface is about 0.7 cm, and each main branch can come out of the nursery when there are more than 5 strong buds. It is necessary to pour enough bottom water 3-4 days before the seedling, to hurt the roots as little as possible, to strictly prevent bruising, to wrap them up with grass bags, nylon bags, etc., and to dip the roots with mud for long-distance transportation. sprinkling should also be carried out during transportation in order to prevent water loss from affecting the survival of seedlings.
