Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Muskmelon can be sown and planted directly, but in recent years, continuous cropping has led to more and more serious soil-borne diseases, which seriously affected the yield and quality of muskmelon. In order to solve the harm caused by continuous cropping, many fruit growers begin to use grafting technology to cultivate, and many farmers are grafting.

Melon can be planted directly, but in recent years, soil-borne diseases caused by continuous cropping have become more serious, seriously affecting the yield and quality of melon. In order to solve the harm caused by continuous cropping, many fruit farmers began to use grafting technology to cultivate, many farmers ignored after grafting, this is a wrong way to do well, so how should melon be managed after grafting? Let's learn about it together with Xiaobian.

1. Regulate temperature

1-3 days after melon grafting, the indoor temperature should be strictly controlled, the temperature should be controlled between 23-25 degrees during the day and between 20-22 degrees at night. A week after grafting, the temperature should be controlled between 23-24 degrees in the daytime and between 15-18 degrees at night, which is conducive to wound healing of grafted seedlings and recovery of growth as soon as possible after survival. In order to create a favorable microclimate for the growth of grafted seedlings, plastic arches can be covered on the beds, uncovered in the day and covered at night, and kept warm and controlled.

2. Control humidity

Before grafting, the nursery bed should be irrigated with water to increase the soil and air humidity, which is conducive to the survival of grafted seedlings. After 2-3 days of grafting, the greenhouse should be sealed to keep the air humidity in the greenhouse between 90% and 100%, which is conducive to grafting wound healing. After that, the ventilation amount and ventilation time inside and outside the greenhouse should be gradually increased, and the normal management should be resumed after one week.

3. Prevent glare

In order to prevent the phenomenon of withered grafted seedlings, it is necessary to shade the grafted seedlings within 3 days after grafting to avoid direct sunlight. Therefore, it is necessary to completely put down the straw cover within 3 days of grafting, and remove the straw cover one by one after 3 days to receive light. As time goes by, gradually increase the number of uncovered sheets. After 10 days, remove all the straw sheets and enter normal management. In addition, the shading time should not be too late, so as not to cause thin and slender grafted seedlings.

4. Prevention and control of diseases

The grafted melon seedlings are easy to be infected with diseases because they have wounds themselves and are in a high temperature and high humidity environment. Therefore, water spraying should be carried out on the seedbed during the wound healing process, and chlorothalonil should be sprayed at the same time, so as to effectively prevent and control the occurrence of melon seedling damping-off disease and root rot.
