According to the situation of resources, production level and farming system, the Ministry of Agriculture divides the dominant areas of rape in the Yangtze River Basin into three regions: the upper, middle and lower reaches, in which priority development areas or counties and cities are selected. The main conditions are as follows: rape planting concentration is high, and the proportion of sown area in winter crops is divided into upstream area accounting for more than 30%, middle reaches area accounting for more than 40%, and downstream area accounting for more than 35%. Sichuan Province has always had the tradition of eating rapeseed oil, so the planting area of rape is very extensive. Except Ganzi, Aba, Liangshan Autonomous Prefecture and Panzhihua City, rapeseed is planted in all prefectures and cities in Sichuan Province. mainly distributed in Deyang, Mianyang, Meishan, Suining, Neijiang and other cities.

(2) the dominant area in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River: this area includes Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui and Xinyang, Henan. The planting area and yield of rape in Hubei are the first in the country, and the planting areas are in Jianghan Plain and eastern Hubei, mainly in Jingzhou, Jingmen, Xiangfan, Yichang, Xiaogan, Huanggang and Huangshi. Anhui rapeseed is mainly planted in Lu'an, Hefei, Chuzhou, Chaohu, Wuhu, Anqing, Xuancheng and other places, basically in the south of the Huaihe River and along the Yangtze River. Hunan rapeseed planting area is concentrated in Dongting Lake Plain, mainly in Changde, Yiyang and Yueyang areas.

It is the highest level of rapeseed yield in the Yangtze River basin. Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai are located in the Yangtze River Delta, with convenient transportation, active port trade, large-scale oil processing enterprises and strong driving ability.

Jiangsu rapeseed planting area is mainly concentrated in the north of the Yangtze River, including Yancheng, Yangzhou, Taizhou, Nantong, Nanjing and other hilly areas. Rapeseed cultivation in Zhejiang is mainly concentrated in two regions: one is the Hang (Zhou) Jiaxing) Lake (Zhou) area in the north of Zhejiang Province, and the other is the Quzhou-Jinhua area in the south of Zhejiang Province. The rapeseed production in the two areas accounts for about 85% of the total output of Zhejiang.
