Last Updated: 2024/11/22, The technique of fertilizing orchid plants is simple and complex, and it is usually necessary to pay attention to the following points: 1. Different orchid species require different amounts of fertilizer. For example, Cymbidium needs a large amount of fertilizer, while Chunlan needs a small amount of fertilizer, as long as 1/2 of that of Cymbidium. 2. Different substrates need different fertilizers. Such as volcanic stone, fairy earth and other hard materials because of themselves.

To orchid fertilization technology is simple and complex, usually pay attention to the following points: 1, orchid species different fertilizer requirements are also different. Such as cymbidium fertilizer needs to be large, and spring cymbidium fertilizer needs small, as long as half of cymbidium line. 2. Different cultivation substrates require different fertilizers. Such as volcanic stone, fairy soil and other hard materials because they do not contain fertilizer, then more fertilizer; and with humus soil and other plant materials, because they have fertilizer without more fertilizer, then the amount of fertilizer required is small. 3. Different seedling conditions require different fertilizer conditions. Strong seedlings should be applied more frequently, while the old and weak seedlings should be cultivated and absolutely not fertilized, otherwise they will accelerate death. 4, to use a variety of fertilizers alternately. It is difficult to ensure the diversity of fertilizer by using single fertilizer. Generally speaking, it is better to use organic fertilizer, inorganic fertilizer and biological fertilizer alternately. 5. Look at the root fertilization. Root short thick that fertilizer too much, root black that there is fertilizer damage, root long that fertilizer shortage, root more and fine that fertilizer is seriously insufficient. 6. Look at leaf fertilization. Such as blue leaf thin color light that lack of fertilizer, such as blue leaf thick color green that is not lack of fertilizer. After fertilization, the leaf color is dark green, indicating that the fertilizer has worked; if the leaf color remains unchanged, the fertilizer is too light, so increase the concentration. 7, flowering period can not be fertilized. The flower bud has strong ability to absorb fertilizer but weak ability to bear it. When the flower bud is exposed to the pot surface, further fertilization will stimulate the vegetative growth and inhibit the reproductive growth, resulting in poor flower bud development, unexpanded petals and early flower withering. Fertilization at flowering stage, flowering will be defeated. 8, the application of animal fertilizer and plant fertilizer, must be fully fermented, can not apply fresh fertilizer, the application of fresh fertilizer orchids will die. 9. Pay attention to fat damage. After fertilization, the leaves are yellow and the tips of the leaves are withered, indicating that too much fertilizer or too thick fertilizer should be used immediately to irrigate or turn the pots for soil rescue, otherwise they will die. 10. The three elements of fertilizer should be scientifically matched. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are essential nutrients in the growth and development of orchids. Single application of nitrogen fertilizer lacks phosphorus and potassium, and the effect will not be very good. The plant is long and soft, and it is easy to infect diseases and insect pests. However, partial application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer lacks nitrogen fertilizer, the orchid plant grows short, the leaf color is yellow and green hard and straight, lacks luster, and the new bud is less and the plant is easy to age. Therefore, the relationship between the three elements should be handled well, and no fertilizer can be applied selectively. Only a little more nitrogen fertilizer is applied in the early stage of orchid growth, a little more potassium fertilizer in the middle stage of growth, and a little more phosphorus fertilizer in the later stage of orchid growth.
