China's soybean imports hit a record high in July
China's soybean imports totaled a record 9.5 million tons in July 2015, up 27 percent from a year earlier, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs. This is also the first time that China's monthly soybean imports have exceeded 9 million tons. In July, China's imports of soybeans from Brazil reached 6.37 million tons, an increase of 22.1% over the same period last year. During July, China also imported 2.28 million tons of soybeans from Argentina, an increase of 43.9 percent over the same period last year. South American soybeans are expected to push China's soybean imports to a record high this year, as years of bumper harvests keep South American soybean offers continuing after August, which means US soybean exports may be restricted, analysts said.

China's imports of corn and substitutes hit an all-time high in July 2015, as feed processors took advantage of low overseas prices to increase imports to replace relatively expensive domestic grains, according to the General Administration of Customs. China's corn wine dregs imports reached a record 1.1 million tons in July, up from the previous record of 959935 tons in June and an increase of 67 per cent over the same period last year. Almost all the corn wine dregs imported by China come from the United States. In July, China imported 1.28 million tons of barley, an increase of 68 percent over the same period last year, mainly from France and Australia. In July, China's sorghum imports reached 1.11 million tons, an increase of 183 percent over the same period last year. China imported 1.11 million tons of corn in July, a 10-fold increase over the same period last year, of which 938344 tons came from Ukraine.
