The first designated port of imported meat in inland China has passed the examination.

The inspection team of the national designated port for imported meat announced a few days ago that the facilities in Zhengzhou and Luohe inspection areas, designated ports for imported meat in Henan Province, are basically perfect, the system construction is relatively comprehensive, the port conditions meet the overall requirements, and the designated ports for imported meat in Henan Province are approved.

Henan import meat designated port construction began in the second half of 2014, according to the "one port, two inspection areas" model, respectively in Zhengzhou airport economic comprehensive experimental area and Luohe Shuanghui Group logistics park construction port inspection area. Among them, the first phase of Zhengzhou inspection area project covers an area of 80 mu, with a total investment of 150 million yuan. It is planned and constructed according to the scale of daily inspection of 1200 tons and annual inspection of 400,000 tons of meat products; Luohe inspection area is constructed according to the scale of annual inspection of 400,000 tons of meat products. The two inspection areas are equipped with functional areas such as inspection storage area, joint inspection office area, open storage area and quarantine treatment area, which can carry out business in parallel.

"This is China's first approved inland meat import designated port that is not coastal, not along the river, and not along the border." Zheng Jinguang, director of the port office of the Henan Province government, said.

It is understood that Henan currently has 47 imported meat enterprises. In recent years, the demand and import volume of these enterprises for imported meat have increased geometrically, and it is estimated that imported meat products will reach 640,700 tons this year.

Henan Province government port office relevant responsible person said, Henan port can realize "port information centralized declaration, customs inspection integration joint inspection, multimodal transport distribution distribution, district port linkage through release" and other functions, future imported meat products can be directly from abroad Zhengzhou, Luohe two places to go through inspection procedures. After the port is put into operation, it can give full play to the functions of Zhengzhou air port and railway port, greatly reduce logistics costs, and drive the transformation and upgrading of food industry and cold chain logistics industry in Henan and central China.
