Persimmon is one of the main fruit trees in China, and its fruit is sweet and delicious. There are many varieties of persimmon cultivated in China, most of which come through grafting, so when will persimmon trees be grafted? What are the grafting methods? How many years will it turn out? According to fruit grower Uncle Li, persimmon trees generally begin to be grafted in summer and have a high survival rate.

Grafting method of persimmon

1. Split joint

Cut the rootstock in the appropriate position, flatten the cross section, split the rootstock from the middle with a knife, about 4-5cm, leaving 2 Mel 3 buds, the scion is inserted into the rootstock with the cambium aligned, the thick wedge facing outward, white up and down, then tied tightly with plastic rope, and the scion without wax seal can be bagged.

two。 Subcutaneous grafting

After the rootstock germinates, the survival rate can be improved. The rootstock is truncated in the appropriate part, the cross section is cut flat, and a knife is cut vertically in the smooth place for about 2-3cm. Cut the scion into a horseear shape, leave 2 mi 3 buds, cut off the phloem slightly on the back of the cutting surface, gently insert the scion between the xylem and phloem of the rootstock, and bind tightly.

3. Square budding

In the smooth part of the rootstock, cut one knife up and down to the xylem, 2-3cm between the two knives, and then cut one knife vertically along one side to gently pry open the cortex. Cross-cut the 0.5cm on the scion bud, cut the 1.5-2.5cm under the bud, cut vertically on each side of the bud, remove the bud piece the size of the rootstock mouth (pay attention to the bud primordium), then gently cut into the incision of the rootstock, the upper end of the bud piece is aligned with the incision cambium, cut off the skin of the excess rootstock, and then bind tightly with plastic film to expose the petiole and budding.

4. With wood budding

In the proper part of the rootstock, cut a knife longitudinally and obliquely, slightly woody, about 2cm, and then cut horizontally and obliquely from the lower end of the longitudinal incision to remove the rootstock piece. Take the scion and cut upward obliquely at about 1cm above the bud. According to the length of the cut of the rootstock, cut upward and transversely at the 0.5cm of the lower end of the bud, cut off the woody bud piece of the same size as the cut of the rootstock, insert it into the incision of the rootstock, align the cambium, and bind to expose the petiole and the bud.

How many years do persimmon trees bear fruit after grafting?

Persimmon has strong adaptability, with the characteristics of drought resistance, barren tolerance, long life, easy management and so on. Generally, it begins to bear fruit 3-5 years after grafting, enters the full fruit period 10 years later, and the economic life is more than 100 years. The old trees of two or three hundred years can still keep the fruiting ability.
