Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Cymbidium, produced in China, widely distributed in Southeast Asia and South Asia countries, north to Japan, this flower has been cultivated, with high horticultural and herbal value. So where does Cymbidium grow? How many flowers a year? How to maintain? 1. What does the orchid grow in?

Jianlan, produced in China, is widely distributed in Southeast Asia and South Asia, as far as Japan. This flower is cultivated and has high horticultural and herbal value. So, where did Jianlan grow? How many times a year do you bloom? How to maintain it?

First, where does Jianlan grow?

Orchids generally grow on the hillside and valley walls of deep mountain valleys, sloping slopes or stone gaps with good water permeability and water retention, next to sparse mountain grass, and shaded by secondary trees. Or a place with shade, short sunshine or only scattered stars. Places with high humidity and good air circulation are sometimes born on the cliffs of mountains and streams.

How many times a year does Jianlan blossom?

The flowering period of the orchid is usually from June to October, mostly twice a year, from June to October, usually blooming twice, about a month apart; the early flowering stage is in early July and the full flowering stage is in mid-July; the initial flowering stage of the second flowering is in early August and the middle flowering stage is full flowering stage; coupled with more than one arrow, a lot of nutrients are consumed. Therefore, in the maintenance should be in line with the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer, fertilization should be relatively diligent, so that Jianlan can grow healthily and blossom in place.

Third, how to maintain Jianlan?

Jian Lanxi has a warm, humid and semi-shady environment, poor cold tolerance, overwintering temperature of not less than 3 ℃, fear of direct light, not resistant to waterlogging and drought, loose, fertile and well-drained rotten leaves. Wild Jian orchids are mostly born in sunny places along forest slopes or under sparse forests at the top of the mountain. Therefore, Jianlan is more like the orchid species with sufficient light, and daily maintenance can put it in the place where the orchid shelf is easy to see light, with as little shade as possible, otherwise it is not easy to blossom, and some varieties of orchid need to be exposed to the sun in order to blossom.

The flowering season of Jianlan is generally in the high temperature season from July to September, which is most likely to occur when thrips and aphids invade buds and flowers, resulting in short buds, browning and withering, flowers being gnawed beyond recognition and seriously affecting ornamental. Therefore, during the period from stamen to full bloom, Jianlan should give priority to prevention, combine prevention and control, and spray drugs in time to avoid suffering from insect pests.

Most of the wild Jian orchids grow in the subtropical areas with warm and humid climate to the south of the Yangtze River, and there are few low temperatures below 0 ℃, so they are afraid of freezing. Cultivation in the north of the Yangtze River should be kept in a closed orchid room in winter, and the temperature should not be lower than 0 ℃, otherwise it is easy to freeze.
