Lily mainly produced in Hunan, Sichuan, Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, all over the country are planted, a small part of wild resources. In recent years, there have been many new varieties produced by artificial hybridization, such as perfume lily and fire lily. So when do the lilies bloom? How many flowering times a year? When is the best time to plant? Now, for all of you:

When do lilies bloom?

Lily flowering time: November-early February of the following year flowering.

Flowers several times a year

In their natural state, lilies bloom only once a year. However, it is not impossible for flowers to bloom twice a year if the intervention is considered, but at the cost of damaging the bulbs.

Specific practice: after the lily withers, cut off the flower stalk, keep 2~3 leaves, water properly, wait for the ground part to wither, dig out the seed ball, wrap the seed ball with soil, put it in the refrigerator preservation layer, and replant it after 1~2 months. After the long leaves will slowly bloom!

Lily farming methods (basic knowledge):

Best planting time: Lily planting time to August-September is appropriate.

Best growing soil: Lily is not strict with soil requirements, but in deep, fertile and loose sandy loam, bulb color is white and fleshy. Thick soil is not suitable for cultivation. The root system is robust and developed, and tolerant of fertilizer.

Growth humidity requirements: lily after planting, to water enough. Before emergence, timely watering, keep the pot soil moist, in order to root and emergence, but not too wet, in order to avoid bulb rot.

The optimum temperature for lily growth and flowering is 16~24℃, the growth almost stops below 5℃ or above 30℃, the plant grows normally above 10℃, and the growth stagnates above 25℃. If the temperature at night in winter is lower than 5℃ for 5~7 days, flower bud differentiation and flower bud development will be seriously affected, and flowering will be delayed or even blind flower and flower split.

The best growth light: Lily has different requirements for light intensity in different growth periods. It needs to be shaded in bud stage, such as when the leaf temperature is too high, it should also be shaded properly. In other growth periods, it is necessary to strengthen light, especially in flower development period.

Notes on breeding lily:

Fertilizer application: thin liquid fertilizer is applied once every 14 days from growth period to flowering period, and phosphorus and potassium liquid fertilizer are applied twice during flowering period. Lily needs enough nitrogen nutrition and enough phosphorus and potassium fertilizer after emergence in spring, N: P: K=1: 0.8: 1, fertilizer should be mainly organic fertilizer.

Watering points: lily planting, to irrigate enough water. Before emergence, timely watering, keep the pot soil moist, in order to root and emergence, but not too wet, in order to avoid bulb rot. Watering during the growth period, usually keep the pot soil moist can, growth peak and dry weather when appropriate more watering, but can not accumulate water, in case of decay. Reduce watering after flowering.

Pruning method: In order to enrich the bulb, the lily after flowering can be cut off at the root to reduce nutrient consumption, because flowering has consumed a lot of nutrients of the ball, if you want to continue to keep the ball, you must continue to fertilize and supplement the nutrients of the ball. After a month, you can dig out the ball, cut the fibrous root, put it in the refrigerator for a period of time, break the dormancy, and then plant it again, but the quality of the flower will decline.

Pot soil replacement: more flowering and thin stem varieties can be set up to prevent flowering broken. In order to promote large flowers, bright and bulbous expansion, part of the bulbils can be removed to control nutrient consumption. Usually three years later, the pot should be replanted.

Reproduction points: asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction can be.
