Last Updated: 2024/09/16, When it comes to problematic meat, as well as unscrupulous merchants who use sick and dead livestock to produce and sell problematic meat and endanger food safety, the public abhors it. Compared with the extensive treatment methods of burying, burning, and chemical treatment of dead livestock and poultry in the past, the invention relates to a harmless chemical treatment method which converts problem meat into organic fertilizer.

The public deeply resent the mention of "problem meat" and unscrupulous businesses that use sick and dead livestock to produce and sell "problem meat" and endanger food safety. Compared with the previous "extensive" treatment of sick and dead livestock and poultry, such as burying, incineration and chemical production, a harmless biodegradation method that turns "problem meat" into "organic fertilizer" appears in the province. the first harmless centralized treatment center of professional breeding waste constructed by using this technology is in Huidong County, Huizhou City.

Harmless treatment of 8 tons of sick and dead animals every day

When it comes to the treatment center for sick and dead animals, many people associate it with "corpses all over the place", "putrefaction" and so on. There is no such situation in the harmless centralized treatment center of aquaculture waste in the suburbs of Huidong County surrounded by mountains on all sides.

"the harmless biodegradation method will not be as messy as the traditional incineration and landfill treatment site, and the process and results are environmentally friendly." Guo Jiang, general manager of Huizhou Shangnong Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., the technology provider and builder of the center, revealed that the plant is currently the first harmless centralized treatment center for aquaculture waste in Guangdong Province. It is morning, and the machinery and equipment for harmless treatment of sick and dead animals has not been started. Guo Jiang said that during the day, the main purpose is to transport and recover sick and dead animals. at present, the center is equipped with eight treatment units, each of which can handle 1 ton of sick and dead animals innocuously every 24 hours. The plant has a storage freezer of 30 cubic meters. In the event of an epidemic outbreak, in addition to using the freezer for temporary storage, the processor setting will be changed to shorten the processing time to 12 hours and increase the daily processing capacity.

"the biodegradation method we use has the advantages of simple process, small footprint, environmental protection, smokeless, odorless and sewage-free!" Guo Jiang said that after putting the animal carcass into the machine, it will go through five steps of cutting, grinding, fermentation, sterilization and drying to achieve "zero pollution and zero emission." At the same time of biodegradation of sick and dead livestock, organic fertilizer will be produced at the same time, which can fundamentally solve the disadvantages of high pollution and high treatment cost, such as burying and incineration of sick and dead livestock, and realize "turning waste into treasure".

Is fertilizer from sick and dead animals really used to grow organic fruits and vegetables? Guo Jiang pointed to an experimental field near the plant and said that the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the "waste" after harmless treatment is very high, which is very effective in improving the "sub-health" caused by the excessive use of chemical fertilizers in the soil. the experimental field is the successful representative of "improved".

To promote harmless treatment, it is necessary to open up the cooperation between the government and enterprises.

Guo Jiang said that in September 2013, the Ministry of Agriculture launched a pilot work on a long-term mechanism for harmless treatment of sick and dead animals, and the technology adopted by pilot counties and cities can only turn 30% of sick and dead animals into organic fertilizer. In contrast, the harmless treatment center can turn more than 40% into organic fertilizer. "there is a government subsidy of 80 yuan for each dead pig, which basically offsets the cost of treatment." Guo Jiang told reporters that the organic fertilizer produced by harmless treatment has become the key to profit.

However, although there are unlimited "business opportunities" in the future, too few people know about this project, which has been in production for less than a year, and many farmers do not understand or are unwilling to try to use organic fertilizer that "turns waste into treasure". At the same time, at present, many farmers are unwilling to hand over sick and dead animals to the center for harmless disposal. After all, selling "problem meat" through "black channels" can make more money.

Guo Jiang said frankly that it is difficult for enterprises to survive on their own, and more harmless treatment centers can only be built through government leadership, supervision, and enterprise participation and operation. With the guidance of the government, the key is that farmers can accept the concept of innocuity. In order to dispel some farmers' idea of "harmless treatment = losing a large sum of money" and "going to the black market = earning more money", Shangnong Company has negotiated with the insurance company to make a breakthrough in sow insurance: sick and dead sows can get insurance compensation, but only through harmless treatment.
