Mango, also known as Mameng, Maomengguo, Mangguo, Wangguo, Honey Wangzi, Mangguo, is a common tropical fruit in our country. At present, it is grown in many areas, and the price is small. When will the mango be planted? How many trees can be planted per mu? How do you plant it?

Planting time:

It is suggested that mango trees should be planted from June to August. If the plantation has irrigation conditions, it can be planted from September to October. If the seedlings are packed in bags, they can be planted in March-May in non-arid areas. Mango trees are best planted on cloudy days or before rain.

How many trees are planted per mu?

According to the climate, soil fertility and mango varieties, the current planting density is 5 × 4 m (33 plants / mu), 5 × 3 m (44 plants / mu) or 4 × 3 m (55 plants / mu). In order to increase the early income, the farming group suggested that 4 × 3 meters should be planted and thinned to 6 × 4 meters after 3-5 years of harvest.

Planting techniques:

1. Select suitable planting plots.

Mango is suitable to grow on sandy loam or loam with south facing slope, thick soil layer, convenient drainage and irrigation, neutral or acidic soil (pH value 5.5-7.5), which requires that the climate condition of mango flower bud differentiation is relatively dry.

2. Grafting and replacement

In order to speed up the growth of scion, grafting can be adopted to fully absorb nutrients in the soil. Grafting can generally be carried out from February to September, and the best period is from February to April. If you choose grafting in summer or autumn, you need to pay attention to the work of moisturizing and sun protection, and if you choose grafting in winter, you need to do a good job of moisturizing and heat preservation. Before grafting, the mango tree as a rootstock was sawed off at a distance of 50 to 60 cm from the ground, and then the selected scion was grafted in the split according to the diameter of the sawing. In some cases, after the new branches grow on the stump, 2-4 branches are selected from the stronger branches for grafting. In the process of grafting, the grafting mouth must be well bandaged to prevent infection.

3. Seedling planting

Many fruit farms have seedlings with good characters for sale. Mango growers can choose suitable seedlings directly according to their needs. Generally, the effect is the best at the beginning of summer, when there are more Rain Water. The growth rate of mango is very fast, and the volume of the tree is relatively large, so the planting density of mango should be controlled at about 800trees / hm2. Before planting, dig 1 m square planting hole, mix fully mature organic fertilizer 375 kg/hm2 with subsoil, then apply it into planting hole, backfill topsoil with thickness of about 25cm. The mango was watered every 3 days in the first 2 weeks after planting.

4. Flower and fruit management

There are obvious problems of big and small years in mango cultivation, so measures must be taken to promote flowers and protect fruits in order to increase yield. One is to sparse flowers and remove early flowers in time; the other is to choose appropriate plant growth hormone to regulate the quantity and quality of flowers, such as spraying ethephon, there is a certain effect of increasing flowers. The third is to apply fertilizer for promoting flowers and strong flowers.

The fruit setting rate of mango is generally high in normal years. In order to improve its individual size and fruit quality, it is necessary to carry out fruit thinning manually to ensure that the number of fruits left on a single spike is only 1 to 2, which can effectively increase the unit price of the fruit; in case of disasters, it is necessary to protect the fruit and apply good fruit protection fertilizer and strong fruit fertilizer to increase the yield of mango. Bagging can improve the smoothness of mango skin and ensure bright color, so the double-layer black paper bag specially used for mango was selected when the average single fruit weight of mango reached about 200g.

5. Pruning management after picking

In order to ensure the yield of mango in the second year, the tree should be pruned after mango harvest in order to overcome the big and small years and cultivate a tree shape with high and stable yield. In principle, the upper branches are heavy-cut to control the plant height of the mango, improve the light transmittance, gently cut the middle and lower parts, retain as many branches as possible, and promote the new shoots as soon as possible; the inner-bore branches of the crown are heavy-cut to improve the light transmittance between the trees, and the surface layer is cut lightly to increase the number of fruiting branches.
