Planting time:

Loose bamboos usually begin to shoot in March and May. By June, most scattered bamboos have already begun to grow tall. August and September is the season of bullwhip. After that, as the temperature continues to drop, the growth will also become slow, until February of the next year, as the temperature warms up, it begins to grow again.

The best planting time for scattered bamboo is from October to February of the next year, especially in Xiaoyangchun in October. Because of the low temperature in November and February, it is easy to lead to weak physiological activity of bamboo, so the growth of bamboo shoots is very little.

Tufted bamboo sprouts in March and May and shoots in June and August, so it is best to plant it in February. Bamboo seedlings can also be used, and the effect is much better than the former.

The development of mixed bamboo is between the first two, and bamboo shoots grow only from May to July, so the best time to plant is from October to December or from February to March next year.

Planting skills:

4. Fertilization: bamboo should be mixed with organic fertilizer in the basin soil when planting, and topdressing properly after normal growth. To apply thin fertilizer frequently, 0.5% urea or 1.0% compound fertilizer can be applied in spring and summer water.

5. Diseases and pests: the main pests of bamboo are bamboo aphids, bamboo shell insects, etc., which can be sprayed with insecticides. The main diseases are coal fouling disease, arbuscular disease and so on. We should strengthen the management and prune the diseased plants in time.

6. Pruning: bamboo grows rapidly, so it should be pruned timely, leaving old and tender, dense and sparse, weak and strong, and proper removal of dead branches when changing pots every year, so as to keep the plant shape beautiful.
