The output value of China's agricultural products processing industry will exceed 20 trillion yuan.

Zong Jinyao, director of the Agricultural products processing Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, said in Jinan, Shandong Province on the 2nd that China's agricultural products processing industry is increasingly becoming a basic, strategic, and pillar industry of the national economy. It is expected that the main business income of China's agricultural products processing industry will exceed 20 trillion yuan this year, accounting for about 18% of the country's total industrial output value.

Zong Jinyao made the above remarks when attending the national agricultural products processing science and technology innovation and promotion activities and agricultural products processing technology achievements fair. On the same day, nearly 3000 people from more than 1100 agricultural products processing research institutes, institutions of higher learning and leading enterprises from all over the country participated in the event.

Zong Jinyao said: since the 12th five-year Plan, China's agricultural product processing industry has made great progress. By 2014, the number of agricultural products processing enterprises in China had reached 455000, including 76000 enterprises above scale, with a main business income of 18.48 trillion yuan, a total profit of 1.22 trillion yuan, and a ratio of agricultural products processing industry to agricultural output value of 2.1 billion yuan.
