Usually the seeds are sterilized, soaked, and then germinated. After these treatments, the germination rate of seeds will be greatly improved. Soaking seeds to promote germination is beneficial to the rapid and orderly germination of melon leaf vegetable seeds, improve the utilization rate of seedling bed, and prevent rotten seeds caused by low temperature in early spring. What are the common methods of accelerating germination of vegetables and melon seeds?

Common methods of accelerating germination of vegetable seeds

1. Celery

Soak the seeds in clear water for 12 hours, then rinse with water and rub with your hands. After rubbing the seed coat, spread it out to dry. After the moisture of the seed is slightly dry, wrap it in a wet cloth, put it in a shady place of about 20 ℃ to accelerate germination, and sow the seed after 3-4 days.

2. Celery

Soak the seeds in 48 ℃ warm water for 30 minutes, then accelerate germination with wet gauze at 15 ℃ and 20 ℃, and wash them frequently. After 7 days, the seeds can be sown when they germinate.

3. Fungus vegetables (sunflower, tofu)

The seeds were soaked in 25 ℃ ~ 30 ℃ warm water for 1 ~ 2 days, and germinated at about 30 ℃, and then emerged and sowed in about 7 days.

4. Spinach

The seeds were soaked in clear water for 12 hours, stirred fully in water, and germinated at 10 ℃ ~ 15 ℃. After 3 days, most of the seeds could be sown when they were white.

5. Lettuce

Soak the seeds for 5 ℃ for 10 hours after cleaning, then put them on a wet towel (gauze) for a day and night, cover them with gauze to moisturize, sprout in light indoors, sow seeds after 1 to 2 days, keep the soil moist after sowing, and emerge seedlings without covering the soil.

6. Coriander (coriander)

The seeds were rubbed open before sowing, soaked in water for 12 hours for 24 hours, and germinated in an environment of 20 ℃ ~ 32 ℃. After most of the seeds germinated, they could be sown.

7. Asparagus

The seeds were soaked in 50 ℃ ~ 55 ℃ warm water, stirred continuously until the water temperature was 30 ℃, soaked at a constant temperature for 5 ℃ for 10 hours, then wrapped in a wet cloth and germinated at 20 ℃ ~ 25 ℃. Most of the seeds were sown after germination and should be covered with heat preservation after sowing.

8. Carrot

Select high-quality new seeds, rub to remove the bristles, and create good germination conditions. The seeds can be sown after germination.

9. Vegetable beans

High quality new seeds were selected, soaked in 25 ℃ ~ 30 ℃ warm water for 1 ~ 2 days, and germinated at 20 ℃ ~ 30 ℃. Most of the seeds could be sowed after germination.

10. Lettuce

Soak the seeds for 5 ℃ for 10 hours, then spread them on a wet towel and cover them with gauze to moisturize them. After 1-2 days, sow the seeds, keep the soil moist after sowing, and leave the seedlings uncovered.

11. Pepper, tomato:

1. Seed soaking: soaking the seeds with 10% trisodium phosphate solution for 20 minutes or 0.2% potassium permanganate solution for 20 minutes can passivate the virus in the seeds.

2. Seed soaking: generally soak the seeds in 50 ℃ 55 ℃ warm water, keep stirring when the water temperature drops to 30 ℃, stop stirring when the water temperature drops to 30 min, soak the seeds for 4 hours, but prevent the seeds from being scalded to death if the water temperature is too high, or soak the seeds for too long, cool the seeds after soaking for a while, then wrap them with gauze and put them in a 2530 min incubator. If there is no oxygen supply, the seeds cannot germinate. In the case of severe hypoxia, harmful substances such as ethanol are produced and accumulated, resulting in embryo poisoning and rotten seeds.

The soaking time is related to the obsolescence and water temperature of the seeds, and the soaking time can be shorter when the new seeds and water temperature are higher. In the process of accelerating germination, you should often turn the seeds and wash them with warm water so that the seeds are heated evenly and keep breathable. Where possible, sprouting can be carried out in a thermostat, and those without a thermostat can be carried out on the fire path or beside the stove and on the radiator in the heating greenhouse, but the seeds cannot be in direct contact with the heat source to avoid steaming, and the wrapped seeds can be put into an earthen basin covered with straw, rice husk, sawdust and other regulators at the bottom to accelerate germination. Sprouting time can not be too long, lest buds are too long, buds are easy to break when sowing. If the sowing is postponed for special reasons such as weather, the temperature of accelerating germination can be reduced to 5: 10 ℃, and the germination can be delayed.

12. Cruciferae: Chinese cabbage, radish, cabbage, cauliflower, rape, mustard, Xuelihong, etc.

The teething temperature of these vegetable seeds is 15-30 ℃, which is suitable for a wide range of temperature. because the seed coat is thin, there is no need to soak the seeds, they are directly sowed in a small petri dish and germinated on paper, and the seeds do not need to be washed during germination.

13. Liliaceae: onions, onions, leeks, fennel, Laver, etc.

This kind of seed requires a low temperature, which can only germinate well at a constant temperature of 15 ℃ or 20 ℃. If the temperature is too high, the seed does not germinate, and the physiological effect of the seed that is too low is disadvantageous to germination. except for celery seeds, the rest of the seeds should be soaked in warm water for 5-7 hours, using a small or medium-sized petri dish, most of the seeds use paper as a germination bed, and coriander seeds are best germinated in soil. Spray a small amount of water during the germination period, the germination period is 6-14 days, and the coriander is longer, it takes 7-21 days.

Methods of accelerating germination of all kinds of melon seeds

1. Cucumber

Before sowing, the seeds were disinfected, soaked in 50 ℃ constant temperature water for 15 minutes, stirred continuously, then soaked in cold water at room temperature for 2-5 hours, picked up and drained, and germinated at 25-28 ℃. After 1.5-2 days, the radicle was first exposed.

2. Watermelon

Before sowing, soak the seeds for 1-2 days, soak the seeds in 55 ℃ hot water for 10-15 minutes, stir them continuously, soak the seeds in cold water for 4-6 hours, then put them at 20-30 ℃ to promote germination, and wash the seeds with warm water at noon every day. The seeds can be sown after 4-5 days of exposure.

3. Wax gourd

Put the seeds in hot water of 50-60 ℃ before sowing, stir constantly to make the seeds heated evenly. After 13-15 minutes, when the water temperature drops to 30 ℃, stop stirring, scrub the seeds by hand and fish out the shrunken seeds.

Remove the mucus and soak in clean water for 12-14 hours. After absorbing enough water, the seeds can be taken out, wrapped in a thick cloth and placed in a germination box or other warm place (30 ℃) to promote germination.

The seeds that promote germination should be turned once a day to make the internal and external temperature of the seed pile consistent. Check the water condition when turning the seeds, spray water in time when the seeds are too dry, and sprout in 3-4 days.

4. Pumpkin

Soak the seeds for 1-2 days before sowing, soak the seeds in 50-60 ℃ hot water for 5-10 minutes, stir continuously, when the water temperature drops to 25-30 ℃, soak for another 6 hours, remove and drain, germinate under 20-30 ℃, and pay attention to maintain good ventilation. It can sprout in 2-3 days.

5. Balsam pear

The seed coat of balsam pear is hard. Rub the seed coat with wet sand before sowing (do not break the seed shell), soak the seeds in 50-60 ℃ hot water for 10 minutes, stir continuously, and continue to soak for 1-2 days after cooling to make it absorb and expand. After soaking the seeds, they were placed under 30-33 ℃ to accelerate germination.

6. Melon

2-3 days before sowing, soak the seeds in 50 ℃ warm water for 10 minutes, stir constantly, cool naturally with the water temperature, soak for 1 hour, then disinfect the seeds with 1000 times carbendazim solution for 10-20 minutes, rinse clean, wrap them with gauze, germinate under 28-30 ℃, and sow seeds.
