Pea is an annual climbing herb, 0.5-2 m tall. The florescence is from June to July and the fruiting period is from July to September. In China, it is mainly distributed in the central and northeastern regions. The following is to introduce the planting time, methods and high-yield cultivation techniques of peas! The vast majority of pea growers have to look carefully!

Planting time and method of pea

Pea is a kind of cool long-day crop, which is not heat-resistant, so overwintering cultivation is popular in many parts of the Yangtze River valley, sowing in autumn and autumn harvest. Of course, spring sowing and summer harvest are still common in alpine areas and northern China. As the requirement of sunshine length of pea is not strict, as long as the suitable variety is selected, it can also be cultivated in spring and autumn in the Yangtze River basin.

1. Pea cultivation in spring:

In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the seeds are sown from late February to early March, and harvested before the advent of high temperature. Spring sowing and summer harvest in Northeast China are usually sown from April to May, and they can also be sowed early with small sheds and plastic films as needed. Spring cultivation has a short growth period, low temperature in the early stage and high temperature in the later stage, so it is necessary to choose cold-tolerant varieties with short growth period, such as red flowers, sweet and crispy peas, and sow as early as possible.

2. Pea cultivation in autumn:

Early-maturing varieties should be selected for cultivation in autumn, sown in early September and harvested before the cold wave in late November. The growth period of autumn cultivation is also short, so the seedlings can be raised in advance in summer in the shade shed, and the growth period can be prolonged with plastic film in winter.

High-yield cultivation techniques of Pea

Green peas can be harvested about 90 days after sowing, with a yield of 600ml / 1200kg. The cultivation techniques are as follows:

1. Soil selection: choose loam or sandy loam with deep soil layer, high organic matter content and good drainage and irrigation conditions.

2. Sowing time selection: determine the suitable sowing time according to the market supply and demand. The best sowing time is from August 10 to September 10, and the picking time is from December of that year to February of the following year. Sowing to harvest for about 90 days.

3. Cultivation mode: planting flue-cured tobacco or corn plots, planting ditches are opened on both sides of tobacco moisture or corn, the distance between ditches is about 15-20 cm, the sowing rate is about 5 kg per mu, the distance between plants is 10-15 cm, and the soil cover is 2 cm. Wait for the seedling height 30 cm to start to set up the frame, insert a 1.5-meter-long stick or bamboo pole at both ends of the tobacco moisture to fix the main line, the above bamboo or wood pole stands as a standing column every 5 meters or so, and pull the main line with wire or grass rope in the middle, and then use the line to pull the plant to climb along the shelf, and strive for stability.

4. Field management: peas have certain drought tolerance and small water demand at seedling stage, so they should be watered timely according to seedling condition, weather and soil condition. Ploughing 1mi twice before erection, and use 10 kg urea per mu or use clear dung water to lift seedlings. During the growing period, the leaves were sprayed with 0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate (0.5% KH _ 2PO _ 4) twice and kept the soil moist. During the flowering and podding period, the management of fertilizer and water should be strengthened, the growth of plants and pods should be promoted, the harvest time should be prolonged, the yield should be increased, and compound fertilizer should be applied every 10 days.

5. Pest control: pea seedlings are prone to diseases such as root rot and blight, which can be treated with 1000-fold solution of 70% dioxone powder and 75% chlorothalonil wettable powder. The main pests are ground tiger, Spodoptera litura larvae and pod borer. 2.5% Kung Fu EC can be sprayed with 1000 times of cypermethrin EC, 3000-4000 times of 20% cypermethrin EC and 48% chlorpyrifos EC with 30-60 ml water spray. Powdery mildew, downy mildew, brown spot, bacterial spot and so on are easy to occur in the middle and later stages. 4000 times of agricultural streptomycin can be used to control bacterial spot disease. Aphids can be controlled by spray such as imidacloprid. Liriomyza huidobrensis can be sprayed with 1.8% Altin EC 2000 times or Shongdan 500x solution. Yellow board can also be used to trap and kill. In the peak period of adult occurrence, 15-20 points per mu are set, and the plate is changed once in 15 days.

6. Harvest: pods should be harvested in time from flowering to full grain.
