Silver bud willow, also known as silver willow and faded willow, is a kind of ornamental bud plant with relatively high ornamental value. it is favored by flower friends because of its good appearance and can be dyed into various colors. at present, it is sold in the market in our country, and the price is not expensive. how much is the silver bud willow seedling? Which areas are suitable for planting? How do you plant it?

Seedling price:

Generally at 18-45 yuan per tree, but the specific price needs to go to the local consultation.

Areas suitable for planting:

Silver willow is native to northern China and is also distributed in Xinjiang (from east to west and south slope of Tianshan Mountain to Kashi Aktao Mountain area) and Russia. At present, it has been introduced and cultivated in Shanghai for 50-60 years.

Planting time:

Fraxinus mandshurica is generally propagated by cuttings, which can cut branches in early spring or use tender branches in Meiyu season, which is easy to take root and survive. Use pastoral soil as cutting substrate to keep it moist. Management: cuttage seedlings can be planted after rooting, daily management should pay attention to fertilization, watering, topdressing for 4 times during the growing period; after entering autumn, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer once to promote full flower buds; fertilize after cutting flower branches, and timely irrigation in summer.

How do you plant it?

1. Raising seedlings

Salix mandshurica is usually propagated by cuttings in spring, but we choose cuttings at the end of autumn. In this way, cuttings can be selected, and after a winter adaptation, cuttings can take root and grow in the sunny border in early spring, and can be transplanted at the end of April, and the root system is developed and the survival rate is high. The specific method is: in the middle and last ten days of November, select the branches with strong, full leaf buds and more than 0.5 cm in diameter, cut them into 10 to 15 cm long, leave 4 to 5 leaf buds in each section and put them in the basin, soak in clean water and set aside. The nursery bed chooses loose and fertile garden soil and finely arranges the bed. The width of the bed is about 1 meter, and the length is not limited. Sprinkle enough water in the seedbed before cutting, the cutting depth is 5 to 1 centimeters, and the row spacing is about 5 centimeters. After plugging in, spray enough water, cover with plastic film, and seal all around. Uncover the film in the next spring, remove weeds and water.

2. Transplanting

The seedlings were refined in the middle of April and could be transplanted by the end of April. The transplanting field should be re-applied with base fertilizer, ploughing into the soil with 2500 kg of rotten organic fertilizer and 50 kg of compound fertilizer per mu, and then preparing the land for bed. The width of the border is 1.5 meters, and the row spacing of colonized plants is 50 × 50 cm. Open the side ditch and pour enough water on the seedlings.

3. Management

In order to make the branches longer, in May and June, in addition to providing enough water, we also need to weed and loosen the soil in time, and topdressing once a week, mainly nitrogen fertilizer and avoid concentrated fertilizer. July and August is the main period of flower bud differentiation, so the supply of fertilizer and water is the key to form flower buds on branches. During this period, it should be heavy water and heavy fertilizer, and extra-root fertilization can be carried out. September is the period of flower bud expansion, so we should stop fertilization and reduce water supply. During this period, the nutrition needed for flower bud expansion can be reliably transferred within the branches.

4. Picking branches

Before and after New Year's Day, branches can be cut off one after another to supply the market until the eve of the Spring Festival. After picking branches can be graded finishing, generally speaking, flower branches with a length of more than 1 meter are first-class products for export. In order to make the color rich, the inflorescence can be dyed into bright red, golden yellow or emerald green with ordinary water-soluble dyes, so as to enhance the ornamental effect and increase the domestic price.

5. Other management

1. When the height of the seedling is 60 cm, do a good job of coring and fixing in time, and cultivate bifurcated clump branches in order to improve the harvest rate.

two。 Salix mandshurica generally has no disease, but it is vulnerable to red spiders and often occurs in summer high temperature and dry season. It can be sprayed with 3000 times of dimethoate or 2000 times of dicofol.

3. After cutting off the old pile and weak branches at the end of February, the base fertilizer can be applied between the rows, and the fertilizer and water management can be carried out by the same method in the next year. Generally speaking, the commercial branches with good quality in 2023 can be produced. The seedlings should be raised again in future production.
