Due to the recent severe drought during spring sowing in Northeast China, corn has the phenomenon of lack of seedlings, broken ridges and large and small seedlings. For this reason, the corn expert guidance group of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will put forward guidance opinions on corn growth and development to promote the rapid growth of corn. When will corn be planted in Northeast China? How?

Planting time:

The sowing time is after the grain rain (about April 20) and before May 10, and the harvest is generally after October 1 and before October 20.

Planting techniques:

1, early shovel early trip, promote development.

Vigorously promote shoveling and intertillage weeding, so as to achieve early shoveling and early weeding, so as to reduce the competition between weeds and corn for water and nutrients. Especially for replanting and replanting plots, deep furrow loosening shall be carried out immediately after emergence in places where conditions permit, so as to seize accumulated temperature, loosen soil, resist drought and preserve moisture, enhance maize root vitality and accelerate growth and development process. For the plots with rainfall and some low-lying waterlogging and open water, human and mechanical forces shall be organized in time to dredge field ditches, dig seepage ditches, and speed up drainage and moisture dissipation.

2. Strengthen field management and timely topdressing.

In order to supplement nutrition in time, promote corn growth and development, improve stress resistance, topdressing should be carried out at jointing and small bellmouth stage combined with intertillage, not too late and excessive, so as not to cause greediness and late maturity or failure to mature. When corn leaves 6-7, combine with shovel to chase urea 15-20 kg, and do side deep topdressing. For some plots with small and weak seedlings, secondary topdressing can be carried out at 9-10 leaf stage combined with secondary intertillage, and foliar topdressing can be carried out if conditions permit. In addition, suitable growth regulators can be sprayed according to the growth to promote plant growth and development.

3, timely weeding, control grass damage.

Because the chemical weeding effect is not good in the early stage of drought, the grass damage may be aggravated after the rain, so it is necessary to weed and prevent the grass damage in time. On the basis of shoveling, manual and chemical weeding are combined. For corn fields with seedling age over 5 leaves, suitable pesticides should be selected to control weeds. This year, the seedling age of corn is uneven, and the weed base is large. Therefore, the dosage should be reasonably determined to improve the control effect.

4. Strengthen monitoring and disaster prevention and mitigation.

Northeast China is prone to drought and flood, so it is necessary to strengthen the dynamic prediction of soil moisture and meteorological disasters, formulate plans as soon as possible, and put forward targeted technical measures to reduce disaster losses. At the same time, strengthen pest control. Targeted control measures shall be taken in time for plots with heavy occurrence of underground pests due to drought. In the middle and late June, we should focus on the prevention and control of meadow moths and sticky insects, and timely control the fields meeting the control indicators. Actively do a good job in the prevention and control of corn borer, big spot disease and other pests in the middle and late stages.
