Comprehensive agricultural development strongly supports the construction of water-saving transformation projects in medium-sized irrigation districts

In 2015, the central government allocated 1.483 billion yuan for comprehensive agricultural development and set up a total of 154water-saving reconstruction projects in key medium-sized irrigation districts. The project funds are mainly used for dredging and lining anti-seepage of main and branch canals (ditches), improvement and renovation of canal (ditch) buildings, and construction of modern irrigation district management system.
After the completion of the project, it will provide backbone water supply for the comprehensive agricultural development project area, significantly improve the conditions of agricultural infrastructure, increase and improve the irrigated area by 7.0887 million mu, save 1.057 billion cubic meters of water annually, and increase the comprehensive agricultural production capacity by 576 million kg.
