China News Service, Lanzhou, December 4 (Reporter Feng Zhijun)-Chinese Minister of Communications Yang Chuantang revealed in Lanzhou on the 4th that over the past five years, China has solved the problem of "travel difficulties" in 654 townships and 42000 formed villages in poverty-stricken areas, and 95% of the townships and 81% of the formed villages have opened shuttle buses. More and more areas have bid farewell to the history of impassable railways, highways and aviation.

The National Conference on Traffic Poverty Alleviation was held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province on the 4th. Reviewing China's poverty alleviation work during the 12th five-year Plan, Yang Chuantang said that the convenience of transportation has effectively changed the situation of "two things in the mountains and beyond the mountains" in poor areas.

According to Yang Chuantang, during the 12th five-year Plan period, China focused on supporting the transformation and construction of about 21000 kilometers of county and township resources roads, tourism roads, and industrial roads in a series of poverty-stricken areas. Mineral, energy, tourism and other resources in many poor areas have been effectively developed and utilized, and the advantages of resources have been transformed into economic advantages and development advantages.

Poor traffic is the "crux" that leads to long-term backwardness in poor areas. taking Gansu, a typical poor province in China, as an example, road construction in recent years has made villages located in remote mountainous areas more and more embarrassed by "relying on heaven for food." including potatoes, apples, vegetables and many other specialty products can be smoothly exported, becoming a shortcut to get rid of poverty and become rich.

Yang Chuantang said: due to the improvement of traffic conditions, some rural areas have turned agricultural products into tourism products and farmhouses into tourism facilities. Some industries with local characteristics have sprung up and flourished because of the road. Thousands of nationally well-known brands of geographical indications have emerged in poor areas, and the trend of large-scale, intensive and non-agricultural agricultural production and management is obvious. the process of transformation from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture has been greatly accelerated.

Although the traffic poverty alleviation work has achieved remarkable results during the 12th five-year Plan period, the 13th five-year Plan still faces some outstanding difficulties and problems. Yang Chuantang frankly said that this is reflected in the fact that the "hard bones" of poverty alleviation and poverty alleviation become more and more difficult in the future, the lack of effective investment in funds, the aggravation of construction tasks, the improvement of standards, and the growing new demand for transportation.

Yang Chuantang said that in the next five years, China's transportation for poverty alleviation will be innovated in terms of concepts, policies, mechanisms, models and standards. For example, speed up the promotion of "transportation + eco-tourism", "transportation + characteristic industries" and "transportation + e-commerce express delivery" to help the poor, so that the function of traffic poverty alleviation to support the development of characteristic industries will become more prominent.
