In the hot summer, in addition to the hot weather, but also upset about the delicate flowers raised at home. One moment I worry that they are thirsty, the next I worry that they will be waterlogged, and that they will be bitten by worms and that their leaves will roll or fall off, which is even more worrying than raising children, for fear that they will become disabled. So, what about curling leaves and falling leaves when growing flowers in summer? Is there any way to solve it? What are the preventive measures?

1. The causes and solutions of curling leaves and falling leaves in summer flower cultivation

Reason 1: temperature is too high. The summer weather is hot, the water absorption efficiency of flower roots can not catch up with the transpiration of plant leaves, the water loss of leaves due to exposure, the stomata of leaves will be closed in a large area to resist exposure and reduce water loss, resulting in leaf malaise and leaf curling.

Solution: spray the leaves in the form of a spray can, water them thoroughly in the morning or evening, or move the flowers to the shade, never watering them at noon when the sun is shining. Flowers will return to normal immediately after they have enough water to absorb, but not all flowers can withstand exposure. Some flowers can not recover or die directly after exposure to the sun, while some flowers have no effect, but the effect of flowering is better. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the tolerance of flowers to the sun and choose a reasonable solution.

Reason 2: the air is dry. Flowers like a humid environment, the air humidity is not enough, the leaves will appear curly leaves.

Solution: often sprinkle water around plants to increase air humidity.

Reason 3: insufficient watering. Because the flowers like the moist environment, if there is leakage or half-waist water, it will affect the absorption of nutrients, the leaves are dim and dull, the leaves are shrunk and curled, and seriously the leaves are withered and yellow and fall off.

Solution: first, a small amount of water should be watered and sprayed, and then watered normally after the plant recovers. Keep the basin soil moist on weekdays, but not on rainy days.

Reason 4: too much watering. Excessive watering of plants and long-term wet basin soil will cause anoxia in the soil, make part of plant fibrous roots rot, hinder plant normal respiration and absorption of water and nutrients, and cause leaves to turn yellow and fall off.

Solution: immediately control watering and often loosen the soil to keep the soil well ventilated.

Reason 5: insufficient fertilization. Flowers are required to have enough fertilizer because of the need for flowering. If there is insufficient fertilization and lack of nutrients, it will lead to thin leaves, thin and yellow leaves, and finally falling leaves.

Solution: change the basin in time for new nutrient soil, and gradually apply more fertilizer.

Reason 6: excessive fertilization. There will be root burning, resulting in yellowing of leaves and death of rotting roots.

Solution: stop fertilizing immediately, increase watering, or immediately pour the pot, wash the soil and plant it back into the pot.

Reason 7: occurrence of diseases and insect pests. Summer because of the high temperature, prone to diseases and insect pests, so that the leaves are prone to curl or yellowing, falling leaves. If pesticides are applied to control diseases and insect pests, but the pesticide concentration is too high, or it is polluted by toxic gases in the atmosphere, or cold water is suddenly irrigated when the temperature is high, the leaves will turn yellow and scorch, or even the whole plant will die.

Solution: rational use of pesticides to eliminate air pollution sources, or spray on insects with soap and water in proportion can kill some soft-shell pests.

Reason 8: iron deficiency. People who lack iron will turn yellow, and so will the flowers. Some flowers with iron deficiency will get yellowing, causing the leaves to turn yellow and dry up and lose their leaves.

Solution: spray nutrients on the flowers and spray them on the leaves; you can also spray white vinegar and water on the leaves in a ratio of 1 to 500.

2. Ways to prevent curling leaves and falling leaves from growing flowers in summer

Method 1, maintenance in the air-conditioned room. Environment is very important for growing flowers. It is hot in summer, keeping flowers in an air-conditioned room can avoid the heat, but it is not good to blow too much air conditioner, so it is necessary to spray some water to the flowers regularly, ventilate and occasionally see the light to avoid the sun exposure. For flowering plants that like the sun, it is better to let them bask in the sun more.

Method 2, shading maintenance. Many flowers are not suitable for exposure in the hot sun, so you can give them proper shade, such as moving the flowerpot to a cool place, or appropriate scattering of light, such as cutting off too many leaves, or spraying water on the ground to cool down to increase air humidity.
