Guanyin bamboo (Phoenix tail bamboo) can adapt to a relatively humid environment, so it is often raised at home in the way of hydroponic culture, which is not only more beautiful but also convenient to maintain, but many people do not know much about its hydroponic culture method, which leads to the yellowing of Guanyin bamboo leaves, so what is the hydroponic culture method of Guanyin bamboo? Why is it yellowing? How to prevent it? The editor will tell you the answer.

What is the method of hydroponic culture of Guanyin bamboo?

1. Remove the leaves

You can't put the leaves in a bottle without getting rid of them. But how many of its leaves should be peeled off is appropriate? This mainly depends on the size of the bottle. There can be no leaves below the mouth of the bottle. Be careful not to cut off directly with scissors. Pull out all the stems until the bamboo knots are exposed one by one. The yellowish stems under the bamboo knots can be seen. So the water doesn't stink so easily. After this step is completed, the root is cut out of the bevel, which can easily absorb water.

2. Water use skills

Water can choose pure water and tap water. If you raise it with pure water, you can keep the bamboo green all the time without adding nutrient solution; if you use tap water, you need to dry for a day or two before you can use it. Before the Guanyin bamboo takes root, it needs to be changed about twice a week, not every day. It should also be noted that when the root minister comes out, there is no need to change the water, which should be added in time. Feel the turbid water can be changed, the time is in the morning and evening, the temperature difference is small, will not cause harm to the root.

3. Water depth control

The water depth is also controlled according to the size of the bottle, about half to 3/5 of the bottle. If you are not sure, it is recommended to use a transparent vase. Transparent vase had better shade, this is conducive to root, to be sent after the root moved to the balcony to see the sun once a month to change water.

4. The position of placement

Guanyin bamboo can not be placed in the position where the air-conditioned wind floats, so its leaves can easily turn yellow. Quan Yin bamboo can be placed in a place where the light should be bright, scattered light or weak light, and it is recommended not to cultivate it in the dark. Also note that when you plug in, don't change direction immediately, and don't move back and forth, it will be fine after a day.

5. Growth temperature

It is important to ensure the temperature for the normal growth of Guanyin bamboo. The root system of Phyllostachys pubescens grows well in the range of 15 ℃-30 ℃, and the best preservation is more than 10 ℃ in winter, and freezing injury is easy to occur under 5 ℃. In other words, it is necessary to maintain a temperature of more than 5 ℃ in winter to ensure the safety of most plants through the winter.

6. Add nutrient solution

Please note that excessive nutrient solution is strictly prohibited and shortening the time interval for adding nutrient solution is strictly prohibited. Generally 10-30 days to add once, spring and autumn plant growth demand is exuberant, generally 10-15 days to add once, winter plants mostly in the dormancy period, generally 20-30 days to add once. When adding, all the water can be poured out or not, depending on the turbidity of the water, generally speaking, replacing it all can increase the dissolved oxygen of the water, which is conducive to the growth of hydroponic bamboos.

Second, what is the reason why the leaves of Guanyin bamboo turn yellow in hydroponic culture?

The water level is too high. If the leaves of Guanyin bamboo are dim and dull, and the branches are small and yellowing, it means that the high water level is caused by poor breathing in the roots. The amount of water needs to be reduced to keep the water level at about half of the container, and to ensure that at least half of the roots of Guanyin bamboo are exposed to the water surface.

2. The light is too strong. Similar to the maintenance of light when cultivated in soil, hydroponically cultivated Guanyin bamboo cannot be managed in the sun, otherwise it will be burned by the sun. So it should be kept in a cool place for maintenance and management.

3. There is not enough fertilizer. Hydroponics generally need to add nutrient solution, if you only change water for a long time without adding nutrient solution, it may cause malnutrition, thus making the leaves thinner and yellowing. Therefore, an appropriate amount of nutrient solution should be added after each change of water.

4. The temperature is too low. We mentioned earlier that Guanyin bamboo is a kind of plant that is afraid of cold. Although it is easy to control the room temperature in hydroponics, it is necessary to keep the room temperature above 10 degrees as far as possible. If the temperature is less than 4 degrees, it is easy to cause frostbite.

5. Abrupt change of environment. If the temperature and humidity of the environment suddenly change greatly, it is also easy to cause the leaves of Guanyin bamboo to turn yellow, so it is beneficial to its growth to move it as little as possible and keep it in a relatively stable and suitable environment.

Third, how to prevent the leaves of Guanyin bamboo from yellowing?

Potted Guanyin bamboo should be moved to an outdoor shady place in summer, and pay attention to watering more, keep the basin soil moist, spray water to the leaves, and sprinkle water on the ground to keep the air moist in order to make the branches and leaves of Guanyin bamboo green. The dry hot wind in summer will scorch the leaves of Guanyin bamboo, so it is necessary to cool down properly to prevent muggy heat. In winter, Guanyin bamboo should be put indoors to control moisture and stop fertilization, and the indoor temperature should be kept above 10 ℃.

During the growth period, liquid fertilizer should be applied every 20 days or so. Liquid fertilizer can be used with mature thin bean cake water or compound liquid fertilizer, and fertilization should be stopped in winter. Guanyin bamboo does not have to change the basin every year, usually once every 2 years. The potted soil was mixed with 1 part of rotten leaf soil, 0.5 part of garden soil, a small amount of river sand and rice chaff ash. In the hot season, the Guanyin bamboo should be moved to a cool place to avoid the hot sun, and water should be sprayed on the leaves of the bamboo to keep the leaves green.
