Chrysanthemum is native to Mediterranean Sea and cultivated in most parts of China, among which Hunan, Hubei, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Shandong, Jilin, Jiangsu and other places are common. Most of them are planted in the south, and most of them are planted in the north.

How do you plant seeds?

1. Land selection: chrysanthemum likes to grow in soil with loose soil, rich organic matter and good drainage, so when selecting land, try to choose slightly acidic soil with good fertility.

2, fertilization: chrysanthemum fertilizer requirements are not high, generally before sowing, apply about 200 kg of decomposed farm manure and about 25 kg of phosphorus fertilizer per mu.

3. Germination: Before sowing chrysanthemum, soak the seeds in warm water of 30 degrees for 3~4 days, then remove them and dry them, and put them in an environment of 25 degrees to germinate.

4, sowing method: chrysanthemum sowing methods are many, can be broadcast, drill or direct seeding, if broadcast sowing about 4 kg seeds per mu can be; if drill or direct seeding per mu sowing about 2 kg can be, and then covered with soil, a small amount of water can be poured.

5. Field management:

(1)Transplanting: one week after planting chrysanthemum, seedlings begin to grow leaves, when seedlings grow three leaves, you can gently pull up the seedlings with higher density and transplant them to other places, and then pour a small amount of water to let them grow naturally. After transplanting, it is best to apply nitrogen fertilizer once every 20 days to ensure adequate nutrients and normal growth.

(2)Watering: chrysanthemum on water requirements are not high, generally as long as the soil can be kept moist, but in winter, it should be controlled watering, to prevent downy mildew and damping-off disease, affecting seedling growth.

(3)Fertilization: after chrysanthemum grows out of plants, the requirements for fertilizer are not high. Generally, fertilizer can be applied once every 12cm of plant height, and topdressing once every harvest to ensure sufficient nutrients in the soil. When topdressing, remember to sprinkle fertilizer directly into the soil to avoid burning the roots and causing plant death.

4 When is the harvest time?

Chrysanthemum growth period is short, generally about 50 days can be harvested, but in order to maintain the new tender, it is best to harvest in the morning is better. In addition, if you want to harvest again, you can leave about 3cm of the base of the main stem at the first harvest to promote the growth of the plant again for the second harvest.
