Modern agriculture calls for a new army of professional farmers
Young people from the countryside are coming to work in factories. Who will farm tomorrow and how? This is a realistic must-answer.
They all say that "it is unstable without agriculture". No matter from the point of view of guarantee or ecology, Suzhou must ensure the foundation of agriculture. "four million mu" fundamentally ensures the solid status of Suzhou agriculture and the style and features of the "land of fish and rice" in the south of the Yangtze River. Although from a formal point of view, agriculture is nothing more than a variety of cultivation, millions of mu of high-quality grain and oil,
One million mu of efficient horticulture, one million mu of special aquatic products and one million mu of ecological woodland are all within the scope of planting and breeding, but as far as its content is concerned, it is far from being able to carry agriculture in the traditional sense, because the production of traditional "road goods" products is simply unable to meet the needs of the current market competition. It can be said that high-quality and efficient modern agriculture is the direction of Suzhou agriculture.
So, who will farm tomorrow and how? "the worst thing is to go home and be a farmer." Such bold words were very useful a few decades ago, but in Suzhou today, I am afraid they are out of date and out of date. Because, today, farming in Suzhou, new varieties and new technologies emerge one after another, and I am afraid that even the "old style" will not be able to eat it. What Suzhou agriculture needs most is a new type of professional farmers, not only to have culture, but also to understand technology, but also to be able to manage. If they are not "farmers" and "exclusive farmers", they are almost unlikely to become "workers engaged in agricultural production, operation, management and service", that is, a new type of professional farmers.
What is the new type of professional farmer like? The rural areas of Suzhou have made answers with practice and exploration. Starting from this year, Kunshan will train 3000 new professional farmers through various channels to provide talent guarantee for the local development of modern agriculture. To implement this measure, the day before yesterday, the Kunshan Municipal Committee of Agriculture and Suzhou Agricultural Vocational and Technical College signed a targeted training agreement, 19 students will serve grass-roots agriculture after training. Prior to this, the Taicang municipal government issued a special "opinion on vigorously cultivating a new type of professional farmers" to provide support for the training of new professional farmers from the mechanism to meet the needs of modern agricultural development and speed up the process of agricultural modernization.
Can the new type of professional farmers be attractive? Such doubts and worries have been dispelled in Taicang. Work signs contracts, income is linked to professional grades, and most importantly, employees can have their own pension, medical and other social security systems. With the continuous improvement of the comparative efficiency of agriculture, it is certain that more and more young people will join the army of new professional farmers. Sun Weiliang, secretary of the party committee of Shuangfeng Town in Taicang City, is full of confidence in the future of the new professional farmers. According to reports, the new professional farmer industry, with an annual income of about 100000 in the local area, is very popular.
The construction of modern agriculture in Suzhou is impressive. 90% of the agricultural land in Suzhou has been operated on an appropriate scale, and the city has 15176 agricultural scale operators of all kinds, initially forming Suzhou characteristics based on family farms and large contractors, with all kinds of cooperatives as the main organizational form and agricultural enterprises as the supplement. It can be expected that the new army of professional farmers in Suzhou will follow soon.
