Garlic not only has good edible value, but also has good medicinal value, such as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, liver protection, anti-platelet aggregation, and so on. So, what are the planting methods of potted garlic? What are the effects of garlic?

A brief introduction to garlic

Garlic, also known as garlic, garlic. Garlic is oblate or short conical, with grayish white or light brown membranous scales on the outside, peeled off the scales, with 6-10 cloves inside, with a strong spicy flavor and spicy taste. It has a pungent smell, can be eaten or seasoned, or can be used as medicine. The underground bulb is divided into purple skin and white skin according to different skin color. Garlic was introduced into China from the Western regions in the Qin and Han dynasties. After artificial cultivation and breeding, garlic has the effect of anti-cancer and is loved by the public.

2. Planting methods of potted garlic

1. Preparatory work:

Balcony vegetable pot: all sizes are OK, but the requirement of growing garlic is not high.

Soil: like loose, well-drained sandy soil, such as harvesting garlic seedlings can also be cultivated with clear water, here we mainly introduce soil cultivation of garlic.

2. Sowing:

Garlic cultivation is very simple, family potted plants generally harvest green garlic seedlings mainly, propagate with garlic cloves, break the bought garlic seeds into cloves, insert them into the soil one by one, and the row spacing is about 5-6cm. Sprinkle a thin layer of soil just to cover the garlic seeds, not too deep. And pour water through it.

3. Budding:

Garlic sprouts quickly and usually sprouts in a few days to keep the soil moist.

4. Fertilization:

If you only eat garlic leaves, you can harvest without fertilization, because the cloves of garlic can provide nutrients. If garlic is harvested, in addition to applying sufficient fertilizer, topdressing should be applied by stages to meet the needs of garlic growth and development, once every 5-7 days. If you harvest green garlic, you can apply nitrogen fertilizer twice with water during the growing period.

5. Harvest:

When the green garlic seedlings grow to 20-25cm, 2-3cm can be harvested with a sharp knife from the soil surface, then fertilized and watered, and then 2-3 crops can be harvested continuously.

Third, the efficacy of garlic

1. Sterilization

Garlic contains allicin, which is more bactericidal than penicillin. It can effectively kill staphylococci, meningitis, pneumonia, streptococcus, diphtheria, dysentery, typhoid, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Vibrio cholerae. Note that eating garlic raw has more germicidal effect than eating it cooked.

2. Aphrodisiac

Garlic is good for blood circulation, which is important for erectile function. In addition, garlic also has the effect of tonifying the kidney, which can improve the quality of men's sperm.

3. Anti-cancer

The sulfur compounds in garlic can promote the production of an enzyme in the intestine, which can enhance the body's immunity, block the formation of lipid peroxidation and anti-mutation, and prevent the transformation of normal cells into cancer cells. At the same time, the selenium content in garlic can also kill cancer cells, thereby reducing the incidence of cancer.
