From seed to lotus, that's all you need to do! Seed planting method and Root method of potted Lotus
Lotus is a common plant in people's life. There are two methods of planting lotus: seed and root. If the best season for outdoor planting and sowing is after the Spring Equinox, the time varies according to the weather conditions in different provinces, and it is best to sow seeds when the temperature is about 15 degrees. The temperature and moisture are all appropriate. The seeds germinate normally in a week.
I. Culture methods of potted lotus
Seed culture of lotus: the first thing is to break the shell. From May to June, the concave end of the seed was worn out on the cement ground or on rough stones, and the seeds were soaked to raise seedlings. To adhere to clear water, often change water, about a week to sprout, two weeks later take root and transplant, each pot cut one plant, the water layer should be shallow, do not drown the lotus leaves in the water. About 90% can blossom in that year, but not many in that year.
Second, separate lotus root culture
The best time to turn potted lotus root is from mid-March to mid-April. Planting prematurely will have the influence of cold current, and planting lotus root will be slightly damaged by freezing. Before planting, the basin mud should be mixed into a paste. When planting, the top of the lotus root is 20 degrees obliquely pierced into the mud along the edge of the basin, and the depth of the bowl of lotus is about 5 cm. The large lotus is about 10 cm deep, with a low head and a high tail. The tail is half warped to keep the end of the lotus root from getting into the water. After planting, put the pot in the sun to make the surface soil crack, so that the lotus root is completely bonded to the soil, then add a small amount of water, wait for the bud to grow, gradually deepen the water level, and end by sticking to the 3m 5cm water layer.
Third, deal with the lotus
(1) Water treatment:
Lotus is an aquatic plant, which is inseparable from water during the whole growing period. Summer is the peak period of lotus growth, and the demand for water is the greatest, so we should pay attention to the dehydration in the cylinder basin all summer. The rainfall in the plum rain season is more convergent, and the water level of the lotus planted in the pond can not engulf the standing leaves, so we should pay attention to timely drainage to avoid the destruction of the lotus.
(2) fertilizer treatment:
Lotus likes fertilizer, but too much fertilizer will burn seedlings, so thin fertilizer should be applied diligently. Summer is the flowering stage of lotus, and the demand for fertilizer is greater than that at seedling stage. If the lotus leaves are yellow and thin after the flower buds come out of water, and there are no disease spots, indicating lack of fertilizer, phosphorus and potash fertilizer should be added in time, and fertilizer can be applied every 15 to 20 days (cake fertilizer or compound fertilizer). According to the size of the pot, the lotus is planted in the pot and the fertilizer is stuffed into the mud in the middle of the basin, allowing it to release gradually.
(3) Light processing:
Ornamental lotus is a long-sunshine plant, the breeding place should have enough light. The row spacing of potted lotus plants should be appropriate, and the over-clogged plants are thinner and taller with fewer standing leaves. When growing lotus in containers such as vats, pots, bowls, etc., you should place the lotus in a place where the light is satisfied or move the lotus outside every day to receive light. After the lotus bud appears, the light should be not less than 6 hours a day, otherwise the plant will appear yellowing leaves and dry buds.
