Cabbage, also known as cabbage, pimple white, cabbage, lotus white and so on, is widely cultivated in China and is one of the main vegetables in spring, summer and autumn in Northeast, Northwest and North China. Cabbage has the characteristics of cold resistance, disease resistance, strong adaptability, easy storage and transportation, high yield, good quality and so on. In recent years, more and more vegetable farmers have planted this variety, so what are the specific planting time and high yield methods? Let's get to know it.

I. planting time of cabbage

Cabbage is planted by raising seedlings and transplanting. Most of the spring cabbage is precocious, and the seedlings are usually raised in the greenhouse from February to March in cold areas such as Northeast, Northwest and Inner Mongolia, and the seedling period is 60 mi 80 days. There are two methods of raising seedlings in North China: one is to raise seedlings in Yangqi from mid-December to early January, and the other is to plant them in March. The second is to raise seedlings in a plastic greenhouse in February, and the seedling period is 40-50 days. The seedlings of autumn cabbage are raised from June to July, and the seedling period is generally 35ml for 40 days. The seedlings of summer cabbage were raised from April to May, and the seedling period was 30ml for 40 days.

2. High-yielding planting methods of cabbage

(1) planting in the open field

1. Raising seedlings

In order to ensure the rate of bud growth, seeds are usually exposed for about 3 days. Seeds soaked in the sun with potassium permanganate solution can be diluted for 4-5 hours to kill bacteria. Soak the seeds, germinate in a container with a wet towel, germinate successfully for about three days, and keep the temperature between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. Cover the shallow soil until the seeds are completely penetrated by water, sow 5-6 grams, and inoculate the seedbed after germination, not too dense. Cabbage is planted by seedling and transplanting. Most of the spring cabbages are planted prematurely.

2. Planting and density

Cabbage and roots begin to move when the soil temperature is above 5 °C. therefore, spring cabbage can be planted when the daily average temperature is above 6 °C. Northern spring drought, mostly flat planting, summer high temperature and rain, but also as much as possible with soil, less root damage, watering after planting, in order to survive.

Reasonable close planting is one of the important technical measures to increase yield. The suitable nutritional area of cabbage should be determined according to the variety and the length of growing period.

3. Fertilizer and water management

Cabbage needs to be watered slowly after planting, and because the temperature is low, ploughing and loosening soil should be done in time after watering in order to preserve soil moisture and improve soil temperature and promote the recovery and growth of root system. Entering the rosette stage, the plant should form a strong assimilation organ, absorb more water and fertilizer, apply nitrogen fertilizer 15--20kg per mu, and fully supply water to promote the growth of leaf bulb. After the leaf ball is formed, watering should be controlled to prevent the sky from breaking, which is conducive to storage.

4. Pest control

Cabbage is easy to be harmed by Pieris rapae at the initial stage of its growth. Pieris rapae is the larva of Pieris rapae, which nibbles on tender leaves and can seriously cause sterilization. Insecticides with low content, low residue and high efficiency should be used for treatment. The best time to spray insecticides is in the evening, when spraying can avoid changes in concentration and composition caused by sunlight, which is conducive to the maximum effectiveness of pesticides.

(2) Family planting

1. Pile a small piece of special vegetable field with soil where there is plenty of sunshine. If the soil is not fertile enough, you can add some earthworm soil or other organic fertilizer. All the soil is mixed evenly, and the ratio of soil to organic fertilizer is about 2:3. Rake the soil loosely with a hand or rake and cover the surface with a layer of culture soil about 2 cm thick to promote seed germination.

2. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil. Then cover it with a thin layer of cultivated soil. Use a sprinkler to water back and forth to make the soil completely moist. Cover with a thin film to promote germination. About 4-14 days, the film can be removed after germination.

3, the temperature between 4-25 degrees, cabbage can germinate, but the time of germination is different. In the meantime, pay attention to the moisture of the soil. When the seedlings grow to 8-10 cm high, they can be transplanted, which takes about 4 weeks!

4. Prepare the soil and rake it loose thoroughly. Because the soil needed by cabbage is more fertile, we should choose the soil with good drainage and PH value between 6.0 and 7.5.

Cabbage can be harvested when it grows to more than 80 days. Remove the root, and if you want to keep it for a longer time, leave more roots.
