Chrysanthemum has the effects of calming the liver and eyesight, dispelling wind and clearing heat, relieving cough and relieving pain. it is effective in treating headache, dizziness, eye swelling, wind-heat, cold, cough and so on. So how to cultivate and manage medicinal chrysanthemum? What are the technical points?

First, the field preparation

Choose sandy soil with fertile soil, flat terrain and good drainage and irrigation. Soil over-sand or over-sticky  can be used to improve soil such as barnyard manure, compost, peat, humus soil and so on. The deep ploughing of the soil in autumn and winter promoted soil weathering and  decomposition of organic matter to reduce the base of diseases and insect pests. Apply sufficient base fertilizer in late March, turn 25 cm deep, fine soil preparation, after leveling to make a high border, border width of 70-80 cm, height of 20-25 cm, ditch width of 30 cm, depth of 40 cm.

II. Timely colonization

Cuttings were raised in the greenhouse in May. In June,  was planted with a row spacing of 45 cm and a plant spacing of 35 cm.  planted 3500-3800 plants per mu. Planting should not be too deep.  should be 3-4 cm. Water was irrigated once after planting. 2-3 weeks after planting, 3-4 leaves were left in  plants with 5-7 leaves.  3-4 weeks later, 2-3 leaves were left in lateral branches when 4-5 leaves were left. It is cultivated by wire-drawing or vertical bar binding on the border. Pay attention to prevent rain during flowering  it is best to build a temporary shed to protect against rain and wind when the chrysanthemum is budding. When the temperature is high and the humidity is high, ventilation is appropriate.

III. Fertilizer and water management

Apply sufficient base fertilizer, mainly organic fertilizer, 2000-2500 kg of rotten barnyard manure or 100kg cake fertilizer per mu, apply deeply and mix well with the soil. From May to July, dilute fecal water was applied for 3-5 times. For the first time, the chrysanthemum was irrigated after planting, and once after each coring. Water is added to 100-150 kg of human feces and urine per mu, and 0.3 kg of urea is added to every 100 kg of human feces and urine.

From the end of August to the beginning of September, 1000 kilograms of pig and cow manure or 25 kilograms of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer were applied per mu of chrysanthemum. 0.2-0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution was sprayed once during bud appearance in October.

In the early stage of growth, the soil was dry and wet, and the watering amount should be properly controlled with the growth of the plant, especially in the flower bud differentiation period, and the plant leaves were not wilted and irrigated. When the plant has lateral buds or young buds, the amount of water should be increased appropriately to prevent water shortage.

The number of watering and the amount of watering depend on the specific situation. Can not flood watering, lest the soil moisture is too high, resulting in plant asphyxiation. Timely ploughing and weeding after watering to prevent soil consolidation.

IV. Prevention and control of diseases and insect pests

The main diseases and insect pests are leaf spot, downy mildew, rust, aphids, longicorn beetles and so on. 50% carbendazim wettable powder was used to control leaf spot, 40% ethyl phosphine aluminum wettable powder or 25% metalaxyl wettable powder was used to control downy mildew, and 1000 times or 1500 times were used to control rust. To control aphids, spray with 2000-4000 times of imidacloprid wettable powder or 0.65% anistemisin water during the occurrence of aphids.

V. Harvest

When 70% of the flowers bloom in mid-late October, clear dew is selected and harvested after drying, and then harvested every 6-7 days until the end of November. The picked flowers are placed in different levels, and the mud flowers and insect pests are removed without sundries.

Warm Tip: when drinking chrysanthemum tea, it is best to use a transparent glass, put four or five tablets at a time, and then brew it with boiling water. If there are many people drinking, you can use a transparent teapot, put a small handful at a time, soak in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, and then pour the tea into everyone's transparent glass.
