Tomato cultivation techniques open! It turns out that this is how you can raise high yields!
Tomato, also known as tomato, is an annual or perennial herb of the tomato genus of Solanaceae. It is an indispensable economical and nutritious vegetable on our daily dinner table. Tomato is native to South America, and there are still a large number of wild species in Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and other places, and now it is also widely cultivated in the south and north of China. Tomato fruit is rich in nutrients and has a unique sweet and sour taste, which is loved by everyone. So how do we cultivate tomatoes?
First of all, we should be familiar with the growth habits of tomatoes. Tomatoes are temperature-loving vegetables and are most suitable for growing in an environment of 20 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius. Although tomato is also a light-loving plant, it is more suitable for growing in short-day conditions. Tomatoes like water, the requirements of the soil is not very strict, it is best to grow in the fertile soil with deep soil layer, good drainage and rich organic matter.
When growing tomatoes, we should pay attention to the following points:
1. Temperature
When tomatoes bloom, the temperature should be between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius during the day and between 15 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius at night. If it is outside this temperature range, it is very likely to cause the tomato to produce abnormal fruit. Therefore, temperature control is very important. When the temperature is too high during the day, it will be cooled by pulling the shade net or increasing ventilation, and the temperature will be maintained by covering the film at night.
2. Humidity
Tomato can tolerate drought but not waterlogging, so we should choose soil with deep soil layer, loose and fertile soil, and strong ability to preserve water and fertilizer. When tomato leaves begin to fade, it means that they need to be watered, but they need to be watered regularly and quantitatively. During the rainy season, it is necessary to loosen the soil and drain water in time to prevent waterlogging.
3. Fertilization
Tomato should be fertilized properly during the growing period, and it needs more fertility. generally, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium or organic fertilizer is used to improve the resistance of seeds and increase the plumpness of fruits.
4. Pruning and budding
Tomato can artificially adjust the vegetative growth and reproduction of the plant to promote its better growth, generally using the method of double-stem pruning, leaving the strongest first bud under the first flower in addition to the trunk. In this way, the cultivated tomato can bear fruit in the lateral branches, and all other spores can be removed. It is worth noting that double-dry pruning can not be carried out in the rainy season. Otherwise, the normal growth of tomato will be affected.
5. prevention and control of diseases and insect pests
Late blight is the most common and serious disease in tomato. The cause of this disease is fungal infection, which will harm the leaves and fruits of tomato. This disease is easy to occur in the environment of high temperature and high humidity, and is serious in years of continuous overcast and rain. During the control, 72% of the net wettable powder of downy mildew can be diluted 8-1000 times without spraying once every seven to ten days, three to four times in a row.
