Third, what are the planting methods of Scutellaria baicalensis?

1. Land selection and preparation

Scutellaria baicalensis likes to grow in loam with loose and fertile soil and good drainage, so when selecting land, we can choose loam with deep soil layer and good drainage, sandy loam or humus loam. After selecting the land, it is best to apply 2000 kg of farm manure on the ground and dig a ridge with moderate length, wide 140cm and high 12cm, so as to facilitate the planting of seedlings in the later stage.

2. The seedlings are fixed

When the seeded seedlings grow to 4cm, dense seedlings and weak seedlings can be transplanted to a wide place according to the distance between 10cm plants, so as to promote the growth of seedlings.

3. Ploughing and weeding

After the seedlings are unearthed, the soil should be ploughed and loosened according to the actual situation to keep the soil loose. In general, it is best to weed about 4 times a year to prevent nutrients from being absorbed by weeds.

4. Fertilization and irrigation

Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi does not have high requirements for fertilizer. Generally, when the seedlings grow to 10~15cm, about 2000 kg of human manure water should be properly applied. By the end of June, 5 kg of urea and 20 kg of calcium fertilizer were applied per mu to ensure adequate plant nutrients. After harvest, 2000 kg of mature stable fertilizer, 20 kg of calcium fertilizer and 5 kg of urea will be applied in the ditch. During fertilization, drainage measures should be taken to avoid stagnant water and lead to root erosion.

5. Remove the buds

Before the inflorescence of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, the pedicel should be removed in time to prevent nutrient consumption and hinder root growth.

6. Disease and pest control

During the growth of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, diseases and insect pests such as leaf blight, root rot and diamondback moth will occur, so prevention and control measures should be taken in advance.

(1) Leaf blight: it is necessary to clear the garden and disinfect in time, and Bordeaux solution or carbendazim can be used to control the plants with initial disease.

(2) Root rot: drainage measures should be taken, withered branches and diseased branches should be cleaned and burned, and the soil should be thoroughly disinfected with lime to prevent infection of other plants.

(3) diamondback moth: it can be sprayed with 90% trichlorfon.

7. Timely harvest

Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi can be harvested after growing for 2 to 3 years. It is generally harvested after stem and leaf withering in late autumn or after thawing in spring and before sprouting, and should be dug deeply to prevent root loss.

Generally speaking, the planting method of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi is relatively simple, as long as a few key points such as water and fertilizer, removing buds and so on can be harvested the following year.
