Vegetables are one of the essential foods in people's daily diet, and basically every household eats them every day, so what are the common vegetables? How to plant it? Which can be planted in winter? Here, I would like to introduce several common vegetable planting methods and vegetable varieties that can be grown in winter.

What are the common vegetables?

Common vegetables are cabbage, cauliflower, celery, carrots, white radishes, carrots, eggplant, parsley, cucumbers, pumpkins, balsam peas, cowpeas, peas, leeks, onions, garlic, lettuce, spinach, cabbage, lettuce, potatoes, amaranth, green vegetables and so on. Here is a brief introduction to some of these vegetables.

1. Cabbage: it is a cruciferous vegetable. It is the main vegetable in winter and spring in Northeast and North China. It can be eaten raw, fried, salted and pickled. Its nutritional value is quite high, but also a regular guest on the dinner table, there are "winter cabbage as beautiful as bamboo shoots", "100 vegetables are not as good as cabbage".

2. Celery: it is an umbrella vegetable, native to the marshes along the Mediterranean coast. It was cultivated in China in the Han Dynasty. It is not only for food, but also for medicine. It can be fried, eaten cold, and stuffed with dumplings. It is very beneficial to prevent high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis.

3. Carrots: they are umbelliferous vegetables introduced into China in about the 13th century. Root vegetables can be eaten cold and fried. They are crispy and nutritious. They are known as "Little Ginseng". Eating two roots a day can reduce blood cholesterol by 10% to 20%, and eat three a day to help prevent heart disease and tumors.

Second, how to grow vegetables?

This paper mainly introduces the planting methods of the above three kinds of vegetables.

1. Planting methods of Chinese cabbage

(1) sowing: can be direct seeding or seedling transplanting, generally using direct seeding, mainly by strip sowing, supplemented by on-demand sowing. Before sowing, the soil should be fine and flat, and after sowing, the feces and urine of acquaintances should be applied, combined with the ground cover, and then watered once every morning and evening, and seedlings can emerge in 3-4 days. When the seedling grows to 2-3 leaves and 5-6 leaves, it is necessary to leave a strong seedling in each hole.

(2) fertilization: 15% of rotten human feces and urine should be applied every 3-4 days before entering the rosette stage; 30% of rotten human feces and urine should be applied every 5-7 days after entering the rosette stage; after starting to cover the heart, the manure should be re-applied and potash fertilizer should be increased; after the closure of vegetation plants, there is generally no more topdressing. In order to facilitate topdressing, it is necessary to loosen the soil and weed in the early stage and cultivate the soil in the middle stage.

(3) watering: the seedling stage should be watered frequently and moisturized, intermittent irrigation during the rosette period, dry and wet, and high requirements for moisture when the soil is dry. Furrow irrigation can be used when the soil is dry, but no stagnant water.

2. The planting method of celery

The main results are as follows: (1) time: celery can be cultivated in spring and autumn. because it is difficult for celery to emerge, we should choose sandy loam soil with high topography, convenient drainage and irrigation, loose soil and fertile sandy loam as seedling bed, and raise seedlings in greenhouse from January to February in spring. in autumn, seedlings can be raised in the open field from the middle of June to the first ten days of July.

(2) sowing: soaking and accelerating germination can be carried out 7-8 days before sowing, and can be sowed after the seeds are sprouted. Wet sowing method is often used, that is, the bottom water is poured first, and then mixed with sand to sow. After sowing, the soil cover should be thin and uniform, and a small amount of water can be poured every 1-2 days in the morning or evening until the seedlings come out.

(3) Management: proper seedling management, seedling division, weeding and ploughing, strengthening fertilizer and water management, timely prevention and control of diseases and insect pests, and prevention of drought, less fertilizer and squatting seedlings.

3. Planting methods of carrots

The main results are as follows: (1) time: sowing can be done as long as the temperature is stable through 13 ℃, and the sowing plot should choose loam or sandy loam with deep soil layer, rich humus and convenient water source.

(2) sowing: dry the seeds for 1-2 days before sowing, then soak the seeds in warm water to accelerate germination, and sow when most of the seeds are white. After sowing, cover the seeds with 1.50 cm fine soil, step on them with your feet, and then cover the border with wheat straw.

(3) Management: remove the mulch after emergence. In case of high temperature and drought, water and moist soil should be drenched in the early morning or evening; seedlings should be carried out in the 4-5 leaf stage, and weeds should be weeded if there are many weeds; timely fertilization should be applied to prevent diseases and insect pests.

Which vegetables can be grown in winter?

1. Spinach: this is a kind of vegetable with strong cold tolerance, and its low temperature tolerance is comparable to that of winter wheat.

2. Cilantro: parsley is a cold-tolerant vegetable, which likes cold and cool. It can not only cook, but also make seasoning.

3. White radish and carrot: their cold tolerance is relatively strong, even if the temperature drops to about 5 ℃, it will not affect the root development of radish.

4. Garlic: it is a vegetable that can only be planted in autumn and winter. The germination temperature can be as low as 3 degrees. It is suitable for open field cultivation in southern winter.

5. Leek: it has strong cold tolerance. It can still survive at minus 5 degrees and continue to grow at 10 degrees.

Summary: there are many kinds of vegetables. This paper mainly introduces the planting methods of cabbage, celery and carrots. In addition, this paper also introduces several kinds of vegetables that can be grown in winter, which can be grown and eaten in their own courtyard.
