Ginger belongs to the perennial herb of Zingiberaceae. It originated in the tropical regions of Southeast Asia and is now widely cultivated in the central, southeastern and southwestern provinces of China. So what is the price and planting method of ginger seeds?

Price of ginger seeds

There are differences in different prices, such as the market. Ginger basically propagates without seeds, but propagates asexually with ginger chunks. After planting ginger chunks, several adventitious roots occur from the stems of young buds, and several small lateral roots appear on them. After entering the vigorous growth period, several fleshy roots can also be produced from ginger mother and seed ginger. These fleshy roots also have a certain absorption capacity, and the amount of seeds used per mu is about 800kg / mu.

Second, the planting method of ginger

1. Sowing time

The sowing time of ginger is generally from late April to early May, and it is harvested before frost. because ginger likes warmth, is not cold-resistant and frost-resistant, it must be planted in sunny weather in the warm and frost-free season.

2. The preferred species of ginger

After harvest, chunks of ginger with fat, full bud, uniform size, bright color, disease-free, insect-free, rot-free, damage-free and unfrozen ginger were selected for ginger seed storage.

3. Disinfection and sprouting

Before sowing ginger, soak it with 50% carbendazim 500 times solution and bask in it for 2 to 3 days. When the surface of the ginger block shines, it can be stacked, covered with straw for heat preservation and sprouting, and the ginger bud can be sown when it grows to 1 cm.

4. Apply sufficient base fertilizer

Ginger has a long growing period and should be fully fertilized with 3000 kg of mature organic fertilizer and 25 kg of potash fertilizer per mu and 15 kg urea and 25 kg compound fertilizer per mu when sowing.

5. Sowing time

The sowing time of ginger is only due to the land, those with good irrigation conditions, high temperature and no sprouting are sowing, and those without irrigation conditions and low temperature need to be sown before and after the Qingming Festival or Grain Rain.

6. Sowing density

The sowing density of ginger is generally about 5500 plants per mu, and the amount of seeds per mu is 800kg to 1000kg. The bigger the ginger is, the earlier the seedling is, the stronger the seedling is, and the higher the yield is, so the seed block should be as large as possible.

7. Ploughing and weeding

Ginger is generally ploughed twice in combination with watering after emergence, and weeds are cleared in time, the plants are gradually closed during the vigorous growth period, and the number of weeds is reduced, so the method of manual weeding can be used to weed, and it is best not to use herbicides in pollution-free ginger production.

8. Timely watering

Ginger is not resistant to drought and waterlogging, and has strict requirements for water. It is appropriate to keep the soil moist during the growing period. During the period of high temperature in summer, ginger should be watered in time to cool down. Rain Water should timely eliminate stagnant water in the field to reduce the occurrence of ginger plague.

9. Reasonable topdressing

When the ginger seedlings are 30 cm high, 20 kg urea per mu can also be used to water the seedlings with clear dung. Before and after the Beginning of Autumn, 50 kg compound fertilizer and 25 kg potassium sulfate are applied per mu, and 10 kg urea and 15 kg potassium sulfate are applied per mu when the underground rhizome is expanded.

10. Cultivate the soil in time

Ginger roots grow in the soil, requiring dark, wet, need to cultivate the soil, generally after the Beginning of Autumn combined with pulling grass and fertilization, cultivate the soil for 2 or 3 times, gradually turn the sowing ditch into ridges to prevent the rhizome from exposing the surface.

11. Shading and cooling

Ginger is a plant that likes shade and is not tolerant to high temperature and strong light, so shading should be carried out during summer growth to promote growth. There are many shading methods, which can be used for shading or intercropping with tall stalk crop corn.

12. Disease and pest control

When ginger rot occurs, remove the diseased plant, dig out the diseased soil, spread lime in the disease hole, and fill it with clean aseptic soil. The spot disease is sprayed with 50% chlorothalonil 800 times every 7-10 days. Ginger borer and ginger maggots are controlled by trichlorfon or phoxim.
