The head of the rabbit is long, the ear is very long, the mouth is a typical three-valve mouth, the nose is oval, the eyes are red, blue, black, gray and other colors, the front legs are short and the hind legs are long, the tail is short and furry, and the coat color is mostly white, gray, yellowish gray and so on.

Rabbits are herbivores and like to eat grass, such as alfalfa and Timothy pasture. In addition, they also like to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, such as apples, bananas, dates, carrots, sweet potatoes, cabbage, spinach and so on. But not all rabbits like it. They also have their own preferences.

3. Why don't rabbits eat grass at the edge of the nest?

Although the rabbit is a herbivore, it does not eat grass. For rabbits, grass is used to hide, and it is easy to be found by enemies and hunters. Because the rabbit's attack ability is very weak, therefore, it is very important to do a good job of defense, therefore, the grass beside the nest can not be eaten. In addition, the grass beside the nest is generally very tall and dense, which can prevent the caves of rabbits from collapsing, and can also be used as a grain reserve to avoid food shortage in winter.

Second, how to raise rabbits?

1. Rabbit house construction

The commonly used equipment in the rabbit house mainly includes rabbit cages, feeding equipment, drinking water equipment, litter boxes, feeding cars and transport cages. Most of the meat rabbits raised in rural areas are large and medium-sized, so the specifications of rabbit cages should be appropriate; rabbits in rural areas are used to putting forage grass in cages and allow them to feed, which is very unhygienic, so it is necessary to prepare feeding equipment separately; rabbits also need to drink water, so drinking water equipment should also be prepared. Litter boxes, feeding cars and transport cages are also indispensable.

2. Rabbit house environment

The rabbit house should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected one week before entering the rabbit. Usually, the rabbit cage should be cleaned frequently, the environment should be kept clean and dry, and it should be disinfected regularly. Rabbit house temperature between 15-20 degrees is the best, summer temperature should not be higher than 30 degrees, winter temperature should not be lower than 7 degrees, otherwise it will affect the normal growth of rabbits. The ventilation of the rabbit house is very important, otherwise it is easy to infect the rabbit with disease. The rabbit is timid and frightened, so we must avoid noise, other animals and strangers.

3. Feed preparation

Rabbits are herbivores, which can be fed with green fodder such as alfalfa, clover, ryegrass, bitter cabbage, sweet potato, aggregate grass, pine vanilla, weeds and leaves, as well as green hay and coarse fodder such as rice straw, bean straw and corn stalk, as well as corn, barley, rice and wheat bran, mainly green fodder, vegetables can also be fed, but not too much, easy to cause diarrhea.

4. Regular inspection

Every day, the rabbit's appetite, spirit, feces, and estrus should be observed, and the rabbit's physical condition should also be examined to see if there is any disease. It is also necessary to check if there are mice invading, because the mice not only carry dozens of diseases, but also steal rabbits and pollute feed, which must be eliminated.

5. Points for attention

The rabbit likes to grind its teeth, so prepare a grinding stick for it; the baby rabbit should not give it a bath and it is easy to catch a cold; the little rabbit does not feel full and should control its food intake so as not to die; do not use vegetables and fruits as a staple food for the rabbit, which is prone to diarrhea; do not give the rabbit grass, otherwise it is easy to suffer from hairball disease; do not eat oily food for the rabbit, which will cause serious gastrointestinal diseases; do not scratch the ear when catching the rabbit, which will cause the rabbit to stand up.

Third, how does the rabbit distinguish between male and female?

Method 1. For the rabbit of the same breed, the rabbit with large skeleton, tall head and big head is the male rabbit, and vice versa.

Method 2. The rabbit's butt has two holes, the lower hole is for pooping, and the upper hole is the reproductive organ. Gently stroke the upper hole with your finger. The hole is flat and slightly larger, and the one closer to the distance between the anus and the rabbit is the female rabbit. The hole is round and slightly smaller, and the distance between the hole and the anus is the male rabbit.

Method 3. When the rabbit is two months old, touch the vagina near the anus with your hand. If you feel a piece of meat that is slightly larger than the broad bean, it is a male rabbit, and vice versa. But meat can be big or small, and sometimes it's hard to tell.

Method 4. When the rabbit is in estrus, the hind legs of the male rabbit often slap the ground to make a sound, and chase after the female rabbit, it is easy to distinguish at this time, running in front of the female rabbit, chasing the male rabbit.

Rabbits are generally raised to 6 months of adulthood, various organs are mature, can be considered on the market or reserved for breeding rabbits.
